Hi there,

Just have question here. Besides sauerkraut & kimchi, can we have other

fermented foods. Well the reason I'm asking is bcoz we make homemade

pickle here. Here's what I normally do so please tell me if its ok.

Ingredients

cucumber (sliced), carrots (can exclude), young papaya (can exclude),

young mango (can exclude)- of course with the exclusions these's less

variety.

shallots, garlic, chili (whole)

slices of ginger

add lemon/lime juice & salt & water

a little sugar (would leave this out as well)

Then we just let it sit for a couple of days. There's another recipe

that needs cooking so that one is definitely out right?

How about other fermented foods like Beet Kvass?

+++Shirin, if it is listed on the Candida Diet and can be fermented

it's okay. Yes, that's right, no cooking allowed.

Beet Kvass is on the Candida No-Nos List:

If you use the Search Engine on the top of my website and enter

something like beet kvass you'd get the references.

contain any vinegar, just salt and water. They are also refrigerated.

**Hi jdmays, sorry if thats not your name, but the following is from a question

a member posted and then Bees reply.

++> Also is there any supplement that you recommend which can be used

instead of the kimchee? Can we just cut out the kimchee and use

a supplement of saurkraut?

##Sauerkraut is not a supplement; it is a whole food. You can eat

one or the other, whichever one you prefer. Both are very good,

particularly if you make them yourself - recipes are on my website.

If you buy sauerkraut it must be unpasteurized, unheated, and in a

glass jar (not in a can), and kept in the fridge at the store. For

anyone in North America do not buy Bubbies Brand because it is heated.

Hope this helps

Kat
