Guest guest
Hi , The alcohol is a component of the sugar/nutrient conversion that is mostly consumed by the process...e.g. the alcohol becomes food for the acetobacteria and any amount left in the finished beverage is very negligible, from all that I have learned, it never really can get much over 0.5%. Being that 4oz daily servings, 3 times a day are the common recommendation, this would'nt intoxicate a bug. There was a recent discussion where someone mentioned splitting a whole gallon between two people without any intoxicating effects. So I hope this calms any concern over this matter. Guest guest
> it is alcoholic I certainly do not want to be arrested for DUI or > cause and accident... If you drank about forty gallons in one sitting, , you might blow a reading but not enought to get you busted The alcohol is negligible especially in longer ferments as it is mostly used up in the process. If you ever take a medicinal tincture the alcohol effect is abouth the same as with KT. You shouldn't notice it. rusty From: " forazw " <forazw@...> <kombucha tea > Sent: Sunday, April 03, 2005 10:01 AM Subject: Alcohol? > > > Hi, folks. > Please, tell me about this alcohol. Guest guest
Nothing carbonated....no beer. Other things are ok but just remember that you won't be eating much food at all at that point. Knowing this, you will feel the effects of the alcohol MUCH quicker than normally. Keep it in very small quantities! Hell, I have been known to PB on a glass of white wine!! (As some people on this board already know!! lol) Jenni DOB 2/23/06 247/146/145 4 fills 2 unfills Temporarily Portless :)holdenslusher <holdenslusher@...> wrote: After surgery (about a month after) I am having some friends over formy birthday, big 21! Guest guest
What does PB mean? I'm assuming it has something to do with throwing up. Another thing I would like to ask is does anyone have problems with sweets or sweet drinks(alcohol or not)? Thanks for the info. > After surgery (about a month after) I am having some friends over for > my birthday, big 21! Guest guest
Carbonation can expand your pouch..not to mention, it don't feel so good with all that foam/fizz coming up your esophagus ;-) FLAT is the only way you could possibly have it when you are filled properly. Beer..FLAT & icey cold works. I can tolerate drinks like..White russian, Rum runner, Long Island ice tea....just tell the bar tender to make yours without any soda/fizz added. Just be aware that alcohol can cause dreadful heartburn if your band is tight, I speak from experience! otherwise, I think it loosen's the band..just a little. Also keep in mind the calories, those white russians are loaded with them even with skim milk. Hey, have a drink or two or whatever..your only 21 once right? But you should wait until week 6 or 8 to celebrate! Just before your 1st fill would be a great time, I had a beer about 6 weeks out ( not flat) and it worked, nursed it, but it went down just fine! Congrats on your surgery & Happy 21st! AND I MEAN IT - BEER IS NOT FUN WITH A BAND!!!! Lori dob 11/10/06 264/249/214/

Also what is anything else > you are forbiden to eat or drink? thank you katie > , it is not a matter of FORBIDDEN - it is a matter of what your band will let you eat and what it won't that also depends on your level of restriction - if your restriction is less - you can eat and or drink almost anything - but when you have good or great restriction, which is what helps promote your weight loss, then the band disagrees with some food and drink choices, like soft bread, b/c it gets doughy in your pouch and binds you up - and some meat blocks you up too - and some alcohol just upsets the pouch - then there are good days and bad days - some days everything goes down no problem, other days nothing wants to go down, stess also effects your band and your band may tighten up if you are stressed out!! Everyone is different and you will discover your own " forbidden list " but we mostly stay away from very chewy foods, doughy foods, beer and other carbondated drinks (soda is not a problem if it has been iced down for a while) and many meats - especially lunch meats (for me anyway) so just listen to your band - it is trial and error - but you will figure out what to avoid as you go. good luck!! You will find that after your first six weeks of recovery - your tastes will change drastically - your goal is weight loss - so you will naturally want to eat a bit healthier to achieve your goals - you will slowly but surely get over your food issues, and it will amaze you!! sweet drinks are just liquid sugar - not healthy and you should take them in moderation - those are liquid calories that could impede your weight loss goals and efforts!! Guest guest
: PBing is Productive Burping and is similar to a baby spitting up because the tummy is too full. In a Bandster, it can be because you either ate too fast, something got stuck, or your last bite filled you up before you knew it. It is like a big burp bubble in your tummy that prevents the food from getting into the pouch/stomach. You will spit up/cough up/gag up the undigested food, sometimes the burp bubble pops out of the mouth similiar in size to a bubble gum bubble with some muscousy slime. I know it sounds yucky, but once the PB occurs, the belly discomfort is greatly relieved. It is very different from throwing up. It can get annoying. Eat slowing with tiny bites that are well chewed and that will help decreast the PB episodes--unless you are too tight. Best of Luck! Guest guest
Hello, What about alcohol? I don't mean the rubbing kind. Is it detrimental? Should we be off it entirely? Valderrama

Alcohol is not on the program. It is explained why it is detrimental in my article " How to Successfully Overcome Candida " ; http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/menu2_8.php Here's the Diet List, and the Diet No-Nos: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/menu2_2_1.php Bee
