Guest guest
Hello , I too had some difficulties accepting this part of the program. I certainly starting feeling better by dropping the grains but, it took a return of symptoms for me to add the fats. As a person that practices western medicine and is very athletic this diet went against the very core of my years of education and endurance training. I even had difficulty eating fat as the very taste of it made my stomach turn. I have read on this site that many vegitarians had this same effect when adding meats into their diet. I too hide my eating habits at work. When my co-workers asked about my new breakfast choice I told them it is a protein drink, given my athletisim this is expected food consumption. And as my daily lunch I have the soup broth with lots of fat, chopped up meats and a small amount of veggies...they assume I have made a no fat fare for myself. With regard to your partner: My husband has had a very difficult time with my new dietary habits. And I hid them for a long time so as not to suffer from his " you are crazy and need to be commited " looks. However, this November will be a year on the diet and he is just now coming around and realizing that my health is much better than it has been...in fact just this week he has had a bad sinus infection (something I used to get monthly) and he is asking my advise on how to do nasal washes to help alleviate his stuffiness. Keep up your great progress on this new diet...your partner will soon understand! ***Like I said in my last mail: I just have to change my mind a lot about using fats. The other day I had steak and wanted to put some butter on it and hesitated, I even put the butter behind some pan on the table to not let it show to my partner (who thinks differently about this). Strange behaviour... so using all those fats is also a change of thinking, feeling comfortable with it, etc.
