Guest guest
Hi, Drinking 6 of the electrolyte drinks a day means drinking the juice of 3 lemons a day.. Isn't it a bit too much? I don't understand why it's fine to drink lemon juice but other juices are forbidden. I mean lemon juice is also made of carbs and also feeds candida, right? . Guest guest
Not yet! Lemons and limes are both low in carbs and contain sulphur which help to fight candida. That's why they are allowed on the diet. > > Drinking 6 of the electrolyte drinks a day means drinking the juice > of > > 3 lemons a day.. Guest guest
>, It's not just carbs per se that Bee's diet restricts, because we actually have many carb choices on this diet. Lemons and limes are low in sugar. Bee has designed a diet that is very low in sugar (sugar is present in grains, dairy, fruits, etc) and the Candida feeds off the sugar in those foods. You are trying to cut down on Candida's food supply, while you decrease its number with anti-fungals---- at the same time you are improving your immune system so that the Candida that remains can be coerced back into it's benign form...and then it won't overgrow again as long as you maintain immune health. So in a way, the carb content of an antifungal food (ie > > onion) does not really matter? +++, Some onions are higher in carbs than others, but you wouldn't be eating a ton of them at any one time. They are usually a small part of a mixture of foods, and not eaten alone like other vegetables. Green onions are very low in carbs/sugars. If you find onions cause problems for you, please do not eat them until later on. Like I wrote before all carbs feed candida, but it is impractical to eliminate them all. Guest guest
Hi Bee, How are you going? it has been a while since I have been on this site, I have just been so busy with studying and exams and life in general. It is so exhausting trying to juggle everything. I have absolutely cut out everything that I need to in terms of diet and have been eating my recommed amount of goods fats and protein (even though I have not progressed with the coconut oil, I eat only 1/2 teaspoon, since I don't think that I can handle the die-off symptomes right now and have cheated only twice. However I have noticed recently that I am not able to tolerate avocardos or lemons in the electrolyte drink. If I eat even 1/2 an avocardo I get a severe brain fog and other mental problems and with lemons are especially worse if they are more ripe. I noticed that you wrote that: > +++Some people are more sensitive than others, so they may need to > eliminate lemons and limes until later on. > > Bee > So should I cut out lemon from my diet completely? Will the negatives outweight the benefits of eating lemons? If I should cut out the lemons should I just be drinking the electrolyte drink with just salt? Also should i cut out avocardos? If I do cut out thse items I will be getting only about 15g of fat in my diet per day. Is this ok? Also, the other day I bought a bottle of extra virgin olive oil with garlic in it, thinking that a bit of it couldn't hurt (the garlic content was only 0.01%). However let me tell you I felt like hanging myself after I ingested even this little bit of garlic!!! It was unbelievably scary and made me realise that I can't fool around with my diet and this has fortuntely made me more determined to stick to the right protocols. And finally Bee I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you have done for me and everyone in this group. I think that if I hadn't found out about this diet my future would be pretty bleach!!! So again thanks you and god bless. love, Nithya

It's good to hear from you again. >It is so exhausting trying to juggle everything. I commend you for sticking to the diet. You can try 1/2 teaspoon 2 times a day, and 1 teaspoon once a day. If the increase is gradual enough it won't necessarily cause more symptoms - try it on the weekend. > > However I have noticed recently that I am not able to tolerate > avocardos or lemons in the electrolyte drink. Also should i cut out avocardos? ++Yes, I think you should cut out the lemons (they also contain sulphur which is antifungal), as well as the avocados. Avocados weren't on the diet initially because I myself found I couldn't tolerate them when I had candida, even though they aren't high in carbs. > > If I do cut out thse items I will be getting only about 15g of fat in my diet per day. Is this ok? +++You should be taking cod liver oil, which is added to your fat intake. Also there's fat in all meats, eggs, and most vegetables, so you need to use www.fitday.com to calculate the grams in the foods you eat. You should also be having butter, which works with coconut oil, and vice versa. > > Also, the other day I bought a bottle of extra virgin olive oil with garlic in it, thinking that a bit of it couldn't hurt (the garlic content was only 0.01%). Guest guest
Hi, there is something I would like to be clarified about... Why can't people tolerate lemon? Is it because of the killing property --> die- off; or is it because of the carb content --> more candidas ==> feeling unwell? . (ps: sorry for the summary like aspect.. I've been summarizing one of my lessons for the past hours )

Even though they are very low in sugars, I still react (as in feeding the candida) to the sugars in them when eaten in the quantities suggested on this program - others have had the same experience. I drink the ocean salt water without lemon. Anita

Like Anita wrote, some people cannot tolerate 3 lemons per day because of: 1) the sugar in it, and 2) it contains sulphur which is antifungal. But most people don't have a problem with lemons, particularly if they drink it 6 times a day (3 with full meals) as recommended. In other words, the amount of lemon consumed at one time is less, than if someone drinks too much at one time. +++You can try cutting back to 3 six ounce glasses with full meals, and see if your die-off symptoms lessen - then you'll know whether it is contributing to your symptoms or not. I only get bloated and burp a lot when I drink it alone. When I drink it with food I think the food itself is causing the die off and bloating. > +++You can try cutting back to 3 six ounce glasses with full meals, Good idea. I'll give it a try. Btw Bee, did you ever dream that you were eating off diet foods during your healing period.

Guest guest
Hi , I've been following Bee's excellent program ~21 months now, and yes, earlier on I experienced the very same type dreams; when they occurred, there would always be an abundance of various formerly eaten foods, but mainly pastries/desserts, and somehow in the dream I would choose one serving of whichever appealed most (as if my norm), but I never got to taste or eat it due to circumstances in the dream, or the dream would abruptly end... I might add that I was raised on comfort foods containing sugar, grains and dairy; and at 53, those foods are in my past, at least for now. For whatever this is worth, know you're not alone in your challenge! With time, diligence and patience a new me has emerged despite the occasional set-backs -- so, I'm writing to encourage you keep on the course. I think dreams may give us a vehicle to vent, or perhaps provide a way to 'have our way' in a safe manner. He also wants to know why you can't use limes or grapefruit? +++Doris, only lemons and limes are allowed on the program since they are the lowest in sugars of all fruits, and they provide other health benefits, particularly in Bee's Electrolyte Drink. Lemonade would contain a lot more lemons. Carrots are very high in sugars so they aren't on the diet; the same for beets and many other vegetables. Grapefruit isn't included either. > > He also wonders why there is the hot water in the egg drink. Does it have to be hot? Why so much water? ++The water needs to be warm enough to melt the butter and coconut oil, but it doesn't have to be hot or boiling. After blending it can be cooled down if one perfers to drink it cold - many do, and they put it in a thermos to take to work. You can put in as little or as much water as you wish. There is no set amount - the amount is suggested for the quantity of eggs and fats in the recipe. Some people like it thick, and others like it thin. The drink is completely adjustable to personal preferences. I hope that helps. Luv, Bee
Guest guest
I guess my body knows what it needs sometimes. This is something that I do occasionally, especially when I feel nauseous or unwell and have for years - water with lime and salt. DH said the other day, " I'm actually getting use to this sea salt and I'm starting to like it. " Lemons are expensive right now and we're on a tight budget. Could I use organic lemon or lime juice instead of the 1/2 fresh squeezed lemon in this? I happen to have some of this on-hand also. Thanks, Beth

Juices don't provide the same benefits, and they can contain mold. Bee
