Guest guest
Hello I'm really suffering and really need your help in sleuthing this out. I can't get in to see my doctor for a week so I'm hoping you have an idea. For weeks, I have been waking up in the night 3-6 times with incredible adrenaline rushes, acid burning in my esophagus which turns into night sweats. These attacks are increasing, but mostly what feels like the most severe heartburn has now become unbearable. My dr. (who is not very supportive of the diet) believed it was simply acid reflux and put me on Nexium (esomeprazole). This made it totally worse, so I assumed my problem was low stomach acid. After two days of pain, I took an Hcl capsule with a meal and within minutes, the burning raced up my esophagus, but soon subsided. It passed completely and I was painfree for the first time in days, so thought I had solved my problem. Supper last night, I took an Hcl and this time the burning was way more pronounced, continued up my esophagus and intensely ached under my chin and around my lymph glands. I felt I was on fire, although my stomach felt fine, it was my esophagus and chest that burned so greatly. I sipped some baking soda in water trying to neutralize it, but the burning continued. The only thing that gives a bit of relief are Swedish Bitters. I'm so afraid to try the Hcl again, although my instinct says that the stomach acid is still low. Please advice.
