I am adrenally fatigued so I have been laying low on the cardio. I do wonder if I am not getting enough Omega 6 to make a good ratio. I use lard, butter and coconut oil almost exclusively. I use Olive oil on salads but with the colder weather, I've been making soups instead. Maybe I'll drizzle olive oil in my soups. I'm in my 5th month, by the way. I had read on Sholmon's site that air-hunger is a symptom of low thyroid and it is certainly one of my symptoms, if you can find the source that says air-hunger is not related to low thyroid, I'd like to read it. Thanks for all the great advice! Marissa

Omega 6 is in all meats and eggs, so it would be very difficult for you not to get enough. The problem is balancing omega 6 with omega 3, which is done by taking it in cod liver oil or fish oil per my supplement recommendations. +++I suggest you lay off the cardio until your body is stronger, and has the energy. In the meantime do dry skin brushing for your adrenals and liver instead. > > I'm in my 5th month, by the way. +++Good for you! > > I had read on Sholmon's site that air-hunger is a symptom of low thyroid and it is certainly one of my symptoms, if you can find the source that says air-hunger is not related to low thyroid, I'd like to read it. +++Can you provide the article? I'm not a fan of Shomon's however. I rely more on Dr. Rind. Bee

I think my liver needs the help. > > +++Can you provide the article? I'm not a fan of Shomon's > however. I rely more on Dr. Rind. ****Here's the link. Turns out it was actually Dr.Lowe's site. Please read this article and get back to me with your > thoughts: http://raypeat.com/articles/articles/hypothyroidism.shtml > > Luv, Bee > *** Thanks for the link, Bee. I really learned a lot reading his article on thyroid. It seems that the disruption in my metabolic rate is related to how efficiently I process oxygen and produce carbon dioxide... and this is influenced as well by how I produce cortisol. All very interesting to me. He presents information in such a thorough and basic way. Plus his knowledge of the history of thyroid treatment, and how it has been influenced by the effects of cheap fats being introduced into farming, and the effects of " drug studies " upon the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid issues is really interesting. He can look at the web of effects, and not just at one minute aspect-- I appreciate this kind of mind. I have not had the scary air-hunger attacks for a week now, so I think I was definitely retracing, and I just hope I didn't set myself back too much by resorting to my dreadful, toxic inhaler on those occasions. Thanks for your thoughts!!! Marissa

You should detoxify the effects of the inhaler in time. Then, if you get air-hunger again, I hope you get some natural antihistamines or anti-inflammatories to use in an emergency instead. Even strong caffeinated coffee is better to use than an inhaler when the symptoms first start. That's what doctors used to recommend before 1950 or so. Also doing deep breathing exercises immediately helps. +++I've had severe air-hunger symptoms, which are like anaphylactic shock, in reaction to soy. My sister is a nurse and she was present during one of those severe episodes and she was going to call an ambulance. Before I started on the high good fats diet I got severe reactions, but since, if I consume some soy hidden in foods, I just start coughing. Guest guest
Hi Phyllis: Bee replied to that message about air hunger. You might want to see what she said. I have had air hunger and also just major lung related issues for years now. The good fats are what the lungs need to feed on. So the fats have really been the key to increased lung health in my case. Plus, when I retrace, I retrace all this lung stuff... very uncomfortable. The coffee enemas help. I have read that air hunger is a symptom of thyroid issues, but as we learn here, it's all related to Candida stiffening the cell walls and our metabolism going into a tailspin as a result.
