Guest guest
Bee - I have a question regarding cabbage rejuvelac and hypothyroidism. I have been on your program since April, 2008 (some ups and downs with foods - but back on track). I have had symptoms of hypothyroidism - which have been greatly improved with the coconut oil. I have read your article " How To Help Your Thyroid With Virgin Coconut Oil " and the section on " Avoid Goitrogens " - in which you said not to avoid cabbage rejuvelac and cooked cabbage. I have also read elsewhere that cooking does appear to help inactivate the goitrogenic compounds found in food. My diet does include steamed cabbage, broccoli and brussel sprouts (I eat separately on different days). I have not added the cabbage rejuvelac to my diet - but I would like to this weekend. You recommend taking 1/2 cup cabbage rejuvelac 3 x day. Questions: 1. For someone with hypothyroidism (or symptoms) - would the ammount of cabbage rejuvelac you recommend be okay in addition to the steamed goitrogenic vegetables? 2. Should any of these be eliminated or reduced? Thank you for your help -
