Guest guest
Actually yes. I went to a talk on Friday afternoon by Dr. Galen Knight. He said at one point that monolaurin in coconut oil can detoxify (not exactly sure if he used that word) mercury. I haven't verified it but I thought that was interesting. Later that evening, I went to hear Dr. Bev Teter talk about transfats. I guess they are not equally evil. She mentioned almost off handedly at the very end of her talk, that an MD friend of hers, had a husband with early onset Alzheimers. He was pretty severe. Anyway, his MD wife started giving him coconut oil and he improved tremendously in a matter of weeks. Dr. Teter speculated that it had something to do with coconut oil regulating sugar metabolism in the brain or something like that. I wondered if mercury was involved. The next day Ross gave her talk. At one point she said that there is no longer any doubt that mercury is implicated in Alzheimers disease. AHA!!! It certainly lends credence to the idea that fats chelate out heavy metals! I plan to email these people and let them know how each of their talks were connected! It was a terrific conference. I encourage anyone to go if they have the chance. Next year it will be in the Chicago area. You can also purchase recordings of the talks on line. There is a link from the WAPF website. Guest guest
Thanks so much Irene for sharing! This is great news... makes sense to me. Sometimes, I've been weary of all of these fancy chelate programs. Mercury has been with us for thousands of years (in our waters, etc.). I find it more believable that God created good fats to naturally chelate mercury out of our bodies in a gentle way >. I do feel for those that have had intense mercury exposure but hopefully the good fats will do the trick for them. Genevieve > > Actually yes. Guest guest
Well actually mercury in the quantities we are dealing with now has only been around for a few hundred years. Pretty much since the industrial revolution. Coal burning is a major source for polluting our waters. And starting sometime a few hundred years back mercury was used in medication and in making those top hats. (Where mad as a hatter came from). People who wore those hats might have even absorbed it through the skin. But I am also leery of chelation and I've heard too many stories of people being made worse because of it. If fats will do it then that is the way to go. Irene At 07:49 AM 11/23/2008, you wrote: >Thanks so much Irene for sharing!
