Hi Doug,

I've been reading your posts about Marina and have been wondering if

she has tried inserting a " garlic tampon. " I've always found this to

be really helpful for me, both when I had a yeast infection or if I

sort of felt like one was coming on, like with the symptoms that you

are describing.

What you do is take a clove of garlic and peel it, but leave the hard

end on. Take a needle and thread and thread it through the garlic on

the side close to the hard end of the garlic and tie the ends

thread. [The hard end will help the thread stay attached to the

garlic when she tries to pull the garlic out afterwards.]

If she leaves the garlic in tact, it will have a less strong effect,

but if she takes a knife and makes small cuts or scratches in the

garlic, enough to allow a bit of the juice to escape, it will be much

stronger. She might want to try the weak version first. Then she

just inserts it like a tampon until it's in a comfortable position.

She may notice the taste of garlic in her mouth after a couple of

hours.

She can leave the garlic in over night or even during the day.

When I've done this in the past, my symptoms have subsided within a

day, but I imagine she could do it for a few days in a row. She

should probably make a new one at least twice a day - onne in the

morning, one at night - if she uses this treatment for longer than a

day.

I'm not Bee, but I think she should probably refrain from douching

since it can upset whatever her body is trying to do to heal. White

discharge shouldn't be too much of a concern.

I hope that helps!

+++Hi Doug. Douches do not " push " bad bacteria up further; they kill

off bacteria. Douching affects the vagina and the opening of cervix

(which has a mucus plug that doesn't allow anything through it).

Douches do not go any further up into the womb or fallopian tubes,

etc. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) is caused by the body

creating bacteria to clean up the area. If douching caused PID I

would have had it horribly when I was on my candida program, since I

douched frequently for 2 1/2 years.

White discharges are usually nothing to worry about, and one should

only worry if they become yellow, green, etc... or thick like cottage

cheese, right?

+++Yes, that is correct.

she doesn't seem to have that. Wouldn't you think baking soda

douches would be a good treatment? The baking soda sitz baths don't

seem to be working, as they aren't going up high enough. She's also

interested in nystatin suppositories, and some of the other natural

treatments. (She used nystatin in Russia)

+++Pain would be a normal part of healing, since her body

must " retrace " all previous symptoms related to the area.

+++Lab tests of cultures, etc. aren't helpful in any case. First,

they can be highly inaccurate, and no tests should be more important

than clinical symptoms. " If something isn't broken, don't fix it, "

no matter what tests say!

+++You're welcome my friend.
