Guest guest
Hi Bee, I began your program several months ago. My cholesterol has historically been in the range of 150-200. I gave blood last week and my reading was 329...a major jump! I am concerned and wonder if this is to be expected given the higher levels of saturated fat consumption. I have been sucessful on the program so far and don't want to give it up but, again, I'm concerned. Your thoughts??? Thanks...Jordan

It is natural for cholesterol readings to increase while the body is detoxifying. This is according to Medical Texts, so doctors should be familiar with it, however most doctors selectively " forget " that fact when it comes to cholesterol. Even if you consumed not one drop of fat your body would still produce the cholesterol it requires in order to protect and strengthen all of the cells in the body. Every single cell requires saturated fat in order for them to be healthy; most cell membranes must be constructed out of 50% saturated fat, while lung cells require 100%. If cell membranes aren't constructed properly they are weak, allowing more toxins in, and make the cells less able to get rid of toxins and their own waste. And weak cell membranes require more cholesterol in order to give them strength and integrity. The fact is that heart disease rarely existed prior to the industrialization of our food supply, which gave us nutrient-devoid foods like white flour, white rice, foods high in carbs, sugars, high phosphorus in pop and soda, damaging man-made oils and fats, along with numerous toxins in foods and drinks. High cholesterol readings are not an indicator of heart disease nor any other physical problem or future problem - here's the true cause of heart disease: http://www.westonaprice.org/moderndiseases/hd.html Also see these references: Cholesterol and Heart Disease--A Phony Issue: http://www.westonaprice.org/knowyourfats/fats_phony.html The International Network of Cholesterol Skeptics (THINCS) is a steadily growing group of scientists, physicians, other academicians and science writers from various countries: http://www.thincs.org/ Cholesterol Is NOT the Cause of Heart Disease: http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2005/05/28/cholestero l-heart.aspx After your body has detoxified enough your cholesterol readings will lower.
