Thyroid levels will go up and down as you progress on this program, since the toxins being released make the cell membranes more rigid. I wouldn't be concerned about a drop in iron levels at this point. Give the program more time. If you are concerned you can eat more liver. Guest guest
Hi Maddy, I had low iron/ferritin level all my life till I started on Bee's diet more than 2 1/2 years ago. When I first started the candida diet my iron level was 12, I just had it checked at the end of November and it now is 52. My doctor was happy to see the steady rise, he said that anything over 40 is great. So my advice to you is stick to Bee's diet and like Bee said don't worry about the flactuation of the number because it will stabilize. Hope this helps put your mind at ease. Guest guest
> > > Hi Bee > > I had my TSH and Iron checked on Monday, TSH is now at 4.90 (Jan 25/09 it was ..84) and Iron is 38 ( Jan25/09 it was 25). I decreased my thyroid meds to half dose on Jan 25 and it seems my thyroid is going more hypo since doing that so maybe I should go back to my usual dose. I feel 4.90 is too hypo for me and I feel lethargic What do you think? I didn't see the doctor, his secretary gave me these results over the phone. +++Hi Maddy. Yes, you should go back to your previous dose for now, and get tested again in 6 weeks. > > My Iron level is increasing because I take an iron supplement daily. +++You iron levels would normally increase as you progress on this program, even if you didn't take any iron supplement. > > I would have thought that after being on this program pretty strict since June/08 that my thyroid would start to normalize but it seems not. Just wondering how long it has taken other people that have been hypo for many years. For me, I've been on meds and hypo for nearly 9 years. +++I think your thyroid is fluctuating just like it did when it went totally hypo. Normally it takes 1 month for every year your thyroid has been malfunctioning, which could have been years before you tested as low.
