Guest guest
Hello, I just got over a nasty sinus infection. I put a lot of saline up my nose and even submerged my face in an Epsom salt bath. I had acupuncture and that helped. Good luck! If so, how much is OK to take? Also, I've recently come down with a bad cold. I don't know if it is my body detoxing or not. All I know is that I spent hours outside on a very cold and wet day and came home with the chills and a sore throat. My nose has been running profusely, and I've started to notice blood in my mucous. Last time this happened, I was diagnosed with a sinus infection and had to be put on antibiotics. I don't want to have that happen again, so are there any natural remedies I can do to stop it before it gets worse? That's all for now. Thanks so much Bee! Here's the information on how much sun exposure you need: " In order to achieve optimal levels of vitamin D from the sun 85% of the body surface (skin) needs exposure to prime midday sun (10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.). Most people require 800 to 1,200 IU vitamin D daily. About 100 to 200 IU of vitamin D are produced for each 5 percent of body surface exposed. Light skinned people need 10 to 20 minutes of exposure, while dark skinned people need 90-120 minutes. It takes about 24 hours for UV-B- stimulated vitamin D to show up as maximum levels of vitamin D in the blood. Please note that natural body oils are critical to this absorption process. Because the body needs 30 to 60 minutes to absorb these vitamin D containing oils from the skin surface, it is best to delay showering, bathing, or swimming, particularly in a chlorinated pool, for one hour after exposure. " Otherwise you need to take Cod Liver Oil, which contains Omega 3 (in the form of EPA & DHA), and vitamins A and D - see this article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/cod2.php I will advise you on whether you can take higher doses, when you confirm you are getting enough vitamin D from sun exposure. > > Also, I've recently come down with a bad cold. Colds and flus are simply the body's way of getting rid of toxins, so you are experiencing die-off/detoxifying/healing symptoms - see Die-Off Symptoms to understand them better: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal2.php +++There is nothing to be concerned about if you have a little blood in your mucus. The membranes are irritated and inflamed due to toxins, so they may be very tender. When you blow your nose, do it gently. +++Most sinus infections aren't actually " infections. " They are simply the body's detoxifying mechanisms which help the body get rid of toxins. However, infections are very misunderstood since the medical industry doesn't believe the body heals itself, so they misinterpret symptoms and scare us needlessly. The immune system itself creates such symptoms. The inflammation and redness is because more healing blood is being brought to the area. Swelling and inflammation help immobilize the area so it can heal better, etc. +++Antibiotics appear to work, when all they do is suppress natural healing symptoms. There are many natural treatments which will help you feel more comfortable in the meantime - see these articles: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/colds.php http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/sinus4.php I hope you feel better soon.
