Guest guest
My candida symptoms were real bad 2 weeks before my period. That brought on the cravings, irritability, fatigue, etc. We know that candida problems mess up our hormones and vice versa. I think an excess in estrogen during those 2 weeks play a big roll too. This is just my opinion. Once the candida is under control, PMS should not be a problem. YEAH! Tammy In a message dated 12/19/2008 5:57:11 A.M. Guest guest
> > Since starting the candida diet about 6 weeks ago, I've noticed a HUGE improvement in my PMS (thanks, Bee!!!). It used to be that two weeks before the start of my period, I would know it was coming because my face would break out and my irritability would increase 10 fold! This time, however, the irritability is negligible (I NEVER thought I'd be able to say that) and I have one tiny red spot on my face. +++Hi . That's wonderful news! Good for you. > > Now, don't get me wrong, the cravings are definitely much better too but they are, by far, the most noticeable symptom. Usually anymore, my cravings are just a blip across my mind and I think, " Ah, I don't need that. I don't even want that! " Today, though, I'm finding myself looking at cakes and cookies like I haven't in weeks and thinking about Diet Pepsi and saying to myself, " One cookie wouldn't hurt, would it? " > > Of course, I won't give in and I'll try the vit. C once I'm home, but I'm curious why the cravings are more pronounced right now, during PMS. What is it about this time that causes these cravings? I once heard the reason our bodies crave simple carbs during PMS is because the increase in the hormones in our bodies also increases our metabolism and simple carbs are the easiest to break down for energy. +++Sorry , I can't explain it. +++Simple carbs are not the easiest to break down for energy. " Good " fats are. Most of them don't require stomach acid, digestive enzymes, nor bile in order for them to be absorbed and utilized like carbs do, and they wouldn't require insulin to maintain blood sugar levels. +++Digesting and utilizings carbs is very taxing on the body's energy resources compared to fats and proteins. Actually fats and protein from meats and eggs are the very easiest foods for the body to digest compared to any carbs. The best, Bee

Guest guest
Hi Sara, If you're following the program, it will start on it's own. You don't want to take any herbs with this program. There's everything you need here and herbs will cause you to detox too quickly and that you don't need. Be patient and let your body heal on it's own. Tammy In a message dated 12/19/2008 2:30:51 P.M. Guest guest
Since I told you guys about my worries on the absent period, I would like to share my joy that it's returned! (I know we are cultured to think that statement VERY strange, LOL) Four months precisely I didn't get it. I take its reappearance as a sign that I've reached yet another threshold in my healing. It's very exciting! As far as PMS goes, I used to be very emotionally volatile shortly before my period - well that did not happen here! It caught me almost completely by surprise... in a very good way andra P.S. And almost nothing in the way of cramps, either, which used to be a big deal for me... > My candida symptoms were real bad 2 weeks before my period. Guest guest
Thanks so much for posting this, andra. I haven't had my period in over two months (no I'm not pregnant). I really feel like my body is concentrating on healing at this point, and that it will return. Guest guest
Ladies, that is one of the first things that messed up in my body. I had period problems and abnormal bleeding. I had wild hormonal moods and lots of pain. I had blood work and ultrasounds. The docs could not tell why I was so out of whack. After one year I am having very little notice that my period is coming. I think I get a little impatient a few days before. That is nothing compared to the drama I used to have. I also don't hurt the first day like I used to. This IS progress... Shelby

Guest guest
thanks Tammy...I'll try to be patient. It's so hard though! This candida healing is such a journey! Not only have I been missing my periods but I am battleing constipation- neither of which was a problem before. It feels like the better I get, the sicker I get- which from what I read, is the healing process...but it still makes me crazy! I'll keep waiting though- something is bound to happen! -Sara

Congrats! I had a similar experience with my period in the beginning of the diet. It skipped a month and that is the first time in my life that my period was late. I find it quite amazing that the body reacts so strongly to this diet. It's as if everything resets itself. There seemed to be a powerful connection between my insulin levels and other hormonal levels that responded so well tho the diet. > As far as PMS goes, I used to be very emotionally volatile shortly > before my period - well that did not happen here! I'll post your Success Story as soon as I can. +++We've had a lot of snow here too (London, Ontario), and expect more today, and Tuesday we'll get a hugh dump. Thank goodness it isn't as cold as when I lived in Alberta. They've had snow and -31F temps. Brrrr. Have a wonderful snowy Christmas, and a very happy healthy New Year! Guest guest
Yes Bee I have been doing this one year. The quality of my life is so much better. I still have a ways to go and my body is still fixing things as I go along. I was in really bad shape. You can post this. My granny told me that my great-grandmother was never bothered with PMS or menopause. She always says, " And your granny had one tiny little hot flash and that was it " . Well that was the last generation in our family to eat of the land like you are supposed to. She died at 92 and was healthy her whole life. I now can see that this is the way it is supposed to be. But my 2 sisters and I had symptoms! I controlled hot flashes with 800 IU Vitamin E daily. The best, Bee
Guest guest
Dear Shelby and other ladies, Don't know if you are aware, but the " Sympto-Thermal " method of birth control, or " Natural Family Planning " is very helpful in determining both when you are ovulating and approximately when your period will start. It does not matter if your period is regular or irregular, longer or shorter. See: http://www.familyplanning.net/main.php?parent_id=3 & id_area=3 This method seems difficult at first, as it involves observation and also abstinence around ovulation times, but there are many benefits from both you and your husband respecting your body's cycles. Particularly since we are all looking to get away from chemicals and messing with our bodies' cycles, this may be something to consider. Hope it helps-- Rhe > > > After one year I am having very > little > > notice that my period is coming. I think I get a little impatient a > few > > days before. Guest guest
I love this method! I´ve been doing it for a while and it really has empowered me to know my body better. Plus, I´ve seen my morning temperatures go up while going down on thyroid meds. This keeps me going.
