When taking Vitamin C until bowel tolerance (for when you > feel like you're coming down with something), once you reach bowel > tolerance, how long do you wait until taking more? And how much more do you take? > For example, suppose I feel a cold coming on. I take 4,000 mg of vitamin C, then an hour later I take 1,000. I keep taking 1,000 per hour. About 4 hours later, I have loose stools (say 9pm at night). When and how much do I take of Vitamin C? Is there a rule of thumb? Hi . When you get loose stools you cut back a little on the amount you take every hour by 150 mg, which is 850 mg. When you reach bowel tolerance at 850 mg you cut back another 150 mg, and so on, until you feel better. Bee
Guest guest
Thank you, Bee. I will give that a try. I need to buy smaller amounts of vitamin C tablets, or get the powder. I only have 1000 mg tablets. Btw, I've staved off many colds and flu by taking lots of vitamin C. I love it! -----Original Message----- Hi . If not, you can dump out capsules to take smaller amounts (mix it into water). Bee
