Is one more > powerful than the other as an antifungal? +++Hi . I believe coconut oil is a more potent antifungal than butter, but the nutrients in both are needed since they work together. +++If you still wake up after lowering your antifungal dose, that isn't what was causing the problem. It is possible your body is improving its ability to detoxify since your body detoxifies more during the night, so you won't be able to solve the problem quickly. +++You can help your body detoxify, which also helps decongest the adrenals and liver by doing some of these treatments, particularly coffee enemas and dry skin brushing: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/detox.php +++Adrenal stress/malfunction goes hand in hand with candida since candida toxins makes all of the cell membranes rigid/stiff and toxins also congest the adrenals, liver, etc. - see " Candida Causes Cell Membrane Defects " on my website. To help your adrenals see this article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/treat1.php +++There can also be other reasons a person wakes up after a few hours, including calcium or blood sugar levels dropping. As you progress your body will become more efficient with utilizing meats and fats to keep blood sugar levels steady. You can try taking your 2nd dose of cal/mag 1/2 hour before bed along with a poached egg (use very little fat); the egg digests very easily so it won't interfere with sleep. Ensure your evening meal includes plenty of protein which helps you sleep. Here's more ideas on how to improve your sleep: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/sleep1.php > Also, I've been meaning to write and let you know that I need to cut down my thyroid medication. Last time when I wrote and said I was doing well, I was waiting for some thyroid labs. The results said my free t3 was too high (6.2 and the top of the range is 4.2) so I thought that was good news. My free t3 has never been that high > before. Also, I know you don't believe in the antibody theory but I thought it was interesting that my antibodies are down too. I think this is the lowest they have ever been. So I've been trying to cut down on my thyroid medication but it's so hard. I have been doing about 1/4 of a tablet every week because if I cut it down too much, I stress out my adrenals but then again if I'm taking too much it probably stresses them out too. I feel like I can't win. > Anyway, Bee, what do you think I should do? Cut down on the butter > and up my c.o. or cut down on butter and c.o. until I can decrease my thyroid meds and not have my adrenals stress out? I was so happy > because I was doing well on the diet and now I'm feeling a little > discouraged because I'm not sleeping as well as I was. Oh well, I'm hanging in there and I'm sure eventually things will work itself > out. +++I understand how discouraging it can be, but getting healthy is not a steady uphill climb towards health; it has its ups and downs. As your body gets stronger, it becomes more able to detoxify, utilize nutrients, etc. so there will be many changes and fluctuations in organ functions. I suggest you stay at the current thyroid med dose and help your body detoxify more. If you are particularly concerned you can do the 9-day program: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/dig6.php The best, Bee
Guest guest
So I've been trying to cut down on my thyroid medication but it's so hard. I cut back my thyroid meds and I had a few rough days. Just know that it passes. In fact, the last 2 days my morning basal temperature was 98 degrees! I've NEVER had that before and this is on the lowest amount of medicine that I've ever been on. But I definitely have " off " days and it is such a process. Just know that you aren't alone. Based on Bee's experience and others, I'd rather error on the side of lower meds to protect myself from going into a hyper stage. Hang in there! Guest guest
Hi Genevieve, Thank for the support. Well I was finally able to get off one tablet of Cytomel (25mcg) and I think my adrenals are back to " normal " . We'll see. Once that balances out, I may even be able to cut down by one more tablet. Very SLOWLY of course. I know what you mean though, it's like I don't need to stress out my adrenals but I'm scared of getting hyper too. It's all a balancing act, isnt it? > > So I've been trying to cut down on my thyroid medication but it's so > hard.
