Guest guest
> > Dear Bee, > > How much vit. A should a 13 month old baby have? I am giving her 1ml > (1/5 teaspoon) cod liver oil/day which provides 2,875IU vit A (Blue > Ice Pure cod liver oil, Green Pasture). Is this too much for a baby > this young? Hi . This is from the Weston A. Price Foundation: Around four months is a good time to start offering cod liver oil, which is an excellent source of the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA (also important for brain development) as well as vitamins A and D. Start with a 1/4 teaspoon of high-vitamin cod liver oil (Blue Ice) or 1/2 teaspoon regular dose cod liver oil, doubling the amount at 8 months. Use an eye dropper at first; later on baby can take cod liver oil mixed with a little water... " At 18 months the dose can be increased to 1/2 teaspoon of Blue Ice - see Candida Treatments for Babies & Children: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/baby.php > > Is Green Pasture the best cod liver oil brand for children (I think > here about mercury, other contaminants)? +++Blue Ice is available from Dr. Ron's Ultra Pure site, and also Green Pastures. They are pure and do not contain mercury or other contaminants - see this article: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/cod2.php > > Another question I have for you. Do you think kids this age need more vitamins besides cod liver oil? +++See the article for babies above. > > Thank you, Bee. I cannot talk with the pediatrician about this, we > have different opinions about vitamins. He recommends commercial > vitamins for kids which are loaded with chemicals, etc. +++I understand .
