Guest guest
Dear Bee & Gang, My sister, who has no known history of candida, was just diagnosed with Celiac Disease yesterday. Since it runs in families, I plan on getting tested soon, too. The interesting thing, though, is this link she sent me (knowing I have candida... & may be a Celiac, too). http://www.denvernaturopathic.com/news/celiac.html I think it's fascinating that the body may interpret yeast as gluten...and that if you're a Celiac, even if you stop eating gluten, may still be just as afflicted by Celiac symptoms till you clear out the candida! Personally, when I learned this, I almost burst into tears because my own journey with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome over the past several years has been hell...now I see there is at least a possibility of hope for recovery. I hope this article helps someone. My sister was diagnosed via an endoscopy (colonoscopy won't do it since it affects the small intestines)....though I hear some of the newer blood tests can detect even the most subtle variations of Celiac. peace,

All candida sufferers are celiac! And usually people who are celiac also have candida. Also candida runs in families. > > I think it's fascinating that the body may interpret yeast as > gluten...and that if you're a Celiac, even if you stop eating gluten, may still be just as afflicted by Celiac symptoms till you clear out the candida! +++I don't necessarily agree that the body interprets yeast as gluten, but it isn't important in the big scheme of things. Most people nowadays cannot tolerate gluten since gluten grains are all genetically modified and are also mycotoxic (fungal-type toxin) which is inherently grown in them. Also grains must be properly prepared to make them fit for human consumption, otherwise they block absorption of minerals, and interfere with protein digestion. Grains are also very high in starches/carbs and turn into glucose inside the body spiking up insulin production. > > Personally, when I learned this, I almost burst into tears because my own journey with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome over the past several years has been hell...now I see there is at least a possibility of hope for recovery. +++Awe . I understand how you feel. Yes, there definitely is hope for recovery. That's why my program does not include grains of any kind. The best to you, Bee
