My 17-year old who is following Bee's program woke up with two cold sores beneath his nose this morning. In the past we have used a prescription called Zovirax (acyclovir ointment/antiviral). Maddalena Cold Sores: Lysine capsules or tablets being very good for fending off cold sores, if you begin large doses of l-lysine when you first feel a cold sore coming on, it really does work well, it can lessen the severity and duration, and sometimes it will prevent them from erupting at all.
