Guest guest
Hello, I had my tooth pulled 2 weeks ago and the gum area is still sore and inflamed but not infected. I did have it checked by the dentist a week ago and she said it was healing slowly but no infection or dry socket. I've been rinsing with warm salt water. Is there anything else I can do to help it heal? Starting two days after having it pulled I've had terrible body aches. I can't stand up for very long. I thought it was the flu but I'm wondering if it's my body detoxing as this tooth had an amalgam filling, a big hole in the tooth, and the root was exposed. I don't know if that would matter though because it was all in one piece after being pulled. I chose to have it pulled because otherwise I would have had to have a root canal. No thanks! It was the last tooth on the bottom so it was a big tooth. If the body aches are related, what can I do? Thanks for your help! Or you can use 3% hydrogen peroxide mixed 50/50 with water (do not swallow it). It helps to hold such solutions in your mouth for 2 minutes and swish it around well, particularly into the hole where your tooth was, and don't eat or drink anything for 15-20 minutes afterward. Or you can soak a piece of gauze in warm salt water and place it in the hole for 2 minutes or more at a time. +++Also ensure you are taking enough vitamin C, and double your cod liver oil dose for 5-7 days which helps the gums heal too. Also apply wet heat to the outside of your face over the area. > Starting two days after having it pulled I've had terrible body aches. I can't stand up for very long. You probably had a local anesthetic which would need to be detoxified. Do what you can to assist detoxification, including Epsom salt baths, dry skin brushing, coffee enemas, etc. - see this article for more help: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/detox.php Luv, Bee
Guest guest
Hi Bee, The health food store doesn't have 3% hydrogen peroxide. Can I use regular until I can order it online? Thank you so much for all this great advice! I have a confession to make. lol! Today I took my first Epsom salt bath. Ohhhh....it felt so good! I haven't taken a bath in years because I have a phobia of sitting in a tub. Well, that fear is gone. As long as I clean the tub with Bon Ami real good every time I will be fine. Is it okay to take Epsom salt baths daily? It looks like my gum is now getting infected. Will the treatment recommendations you gave me be the same if it is infected? I'm not going to take antibiotics if there is an infection. It drives me crazy when people freak out about an infection in their mouth. Many people act like it's the end of their life if they don't get on antibiotics. Well, how do they think people made it before antibiotics? I just want to scream, " Get a grip folks! " Of course we need to treat it but the natural ways are the BEST. Okay, I'm done with that vent. hah! Thanks again Bee! Have a good evening. Tammy In a message dated 12/13/2008 5:57:20 A.M. It isn't necessary to use 35% Food Grade H202; you can use the regular one sold in drug stores. > Thank you so much for all this great advice! I have a confession to make. lol! Yes it is okay to take a bath every day! > > It looks like my gum is now getting infected. Will the treatment > recommendations you gave me be the same if it is infected? +++An infection is a word that is misunderstood. An infection is actually the body's immune system going into action to heal an area. Redness and inflammation are due to healing blood brought to the area to help heal. Swelling is due to immune system's healing substances (pus) and more blood in the area. Swelling also immobilizes it so it can heal better. So you simply need to assist the body to do its job, not suppress the symptoms with drugs or antibiotics. > I'm not going to take antibiotics if there is an infection. Okay, I'm done with that vent. hah! +++You are absolutely correct! The medicos have falsely led people to believe an infection can take over and spread throughout the body, and possibly kill them. Duh? They don't understand what an infection actually IS, but medicos makes lots of money on ignorance and by creating myths and mysteries. Thanks again Bee! Have a good evening. +++Thanks. Take care.
