Guest guest
Hi Sara, When I started the candida diet 3 months ago my urine ph went from 7 to 5 and has stayed at 5 ever since. The urine is also lighter in colour (ie not so yellow). I think this is a positive sign that the detox is working and the body is ridding itself of toxic crap! What about all the claims that disease grows in acidic environments? +++Hi Sara. The body carefully maintains pH at certain levels, which is different levels in different areas of the body. It cannot be influenced by foods or supplements. It isn't true that candida grows only in an acidic environment, since it thrives in the small intestines which is alkaline. Many people mistakenly think they are acidic, when they are actually toxic. Candida, other bacteria and germs thrive in a toxic environment. > sorry if these questions are repetative- I'm just really concerned. > I've been on a candida diet for almost 6 months and was shocked to see such an acidic environment. Also I'm wondering if it is caused by my ascorbic acid I am taking? the vitamin seems to help me feel good and is helping my constipation- should I continue taking it? +++Ascorbic acid doesn't cause your body to be acidic. It is one of the many nutrients your body needs in order to maintain proper pH in different areas of the body. Bee
