Hi Tammy,

Boy, I feel for you...after I first started the diet I got these very

same symptoms. It was embarrassing and almost excruciating in it's

discomfort. The only thing that helped me was to do the epsom salt

baths and rub the affected areas with coconut oil. Sometimes baking

soda helped too. And I'll warn you, for me, it got worse before

getting better. But it eventually did get better.

What you're experiencing is die-off and you've got to forge ahead with

the diet. In the long run that's what will make all the difference.

good luck.

Jackie, the interesting thing is that I have had the yeast infections and

rectal itching on and off for years. Recently they have been getting worse

and I wonder how much of it has been exacerbated by the pregnancy and post

partum period since I know the hormones are more intense during this time.

They have been worse since my daughter was born and as I am writing this I

realize that 3 months ago I saw a naturopath. I was given a homeopathic

yeast remedy (extremely diluted yeast so much so that only the energy

remains) and told to go off of dairy and gluten. I had an immediate

reaction to the yeast drops. I got a rash which was red, itchy bumps with a

cornmeal feel to my skin. I also had an increase in the vaginal/rectal

symptoms. It has been all down hill from there. Obviously these

recommendations were not at all helpful. Since I had already reviewed Bee's

program before this started, I knew about coconut oil and have been applying

that pretty much daily and nightly for months. It does help but only for a

short time. I wonder if adding baking soda to the Epsom soak that I do

almost daily would be a good idea. And, good heavens, I sure hope it

doesn't get worse because I can barely function the way I am now. I'm glad

to hear it did get better and I am trying to motivate myself by focusing on

the sweet reward of feeling like a human being again.

Thank you so much for your kind words. This journey has been so hard. I

have tried all the " conventional " avenues to get help and even some

nonconventional ones. No one has been able to help me and that's very

disappointing. I am so grateful to have found this group again. It is

certainly reassuring that the answer is out there. Best to you, Tammy

Oh my, we all feel for you and your discomfort. I was glad to hear you

doing Epsom Salt baths for the rash, but I would say to immediately stop

using the tea tree oil. Essential oils are highly concentrated and are

inflammatory. I never recommend anyone use an essential oil on any kind

of rash or inflammation. While you are probably having some die-off

symptoms, you might also be exacerbating it, having partly a reaction to

the tea tree oil. Despite what the marketers may say, tea tree oil (or

any other essential oil) is not safe to use on the skin without diluting

it. By diluting it, I mean use just 2 to 5 drops TOTAL in a bath or in

your cup of massage oil, for example.

Keep up the Epsom Salts and use coconut oil or another soothing oil

(olive oil, shea butter, real butter or ghee) on your skin and that

should help. Also think about things you can do to " cool " the

rash/redness if it is very painful and inflammed, like pure aloe gel or

a tea made with calendula flowers, marshmallow root, or slippery elm

bark. Avoid using tea made from strongly aromatic herbs (like mints) on

rashes.

Good luck,

Hi Tammy,

I hope Bee will chime and and comment on your condition and give you

her take and maybe some other suggestions. I did want to mention that

even after my initial outbreak of major symptoms subsided, they would

sort of flare up for a few days around the time of my menstrual cycle.

It wasn't as bad, don't worry...but it was obviously hormonal related.

I hope you find some relief soon.

Thank you. I was probably using about 20 drops in a tub half to 3/4th full

of water. I will decrease it significantly as I think you are totally

right. I have been using a mixture of castor oil (for inflammation), tamanu

oil and coconut oil on the area. That has been really helping for about

three days but I'm having a bad day today. Thank you so much for taking the

time to type that. I appreciate your advice. Tammy

+++Hi Tammy. Please remember that your body " retraces " any previous

symptoms you've had prior to going on the program, and those symptoms

can also intensify as your body clears out toxins and starts

rebuilding the area affected. Pregnancy itself wouldn't exacerbate

such symptoms, but poor nutrition during pregnancy would contribute

to the problems.

+++Those recommendations were actually very helpful, since it created

healing/die-off/detoxifying reactions and symptoms, which are all the

same thing, called the Herxheimer Reactions - see " Die-Off Symptoms " ;

http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/heal2.php

+++All rashes are toxins coming out through the skin, which is one of

the best ways for the body to get rid of them.

+++Symptoms do intensify before they get better.

> Since I had already reviewed Bee's program before this started, I

knew about coconut oil and have been applying that pretty much daily

and nightly for months. It does help but only for a short time. I

wonder if adding baking soda to the Epsom soak that I do almost daily

would be a good idea.

+++Yes baking soda will soothe the symptoms somewhat, but actual

healing occurs from inside with " proper nutrients. " Candida toxins,

and other types as well, cause all of the body's cell membranes to

become rigid/stiff which affects the skin as well - see Candida

Causes Cell Membrane Defects " :

http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/cabout1.php

+++In addition, if you've consumed man-made vegetable oils for most

of your life, and haven't had enough " good " fats recommended on this

program, your body needs time to reconstruct all of the body's cell

membranes so they are strong again.

+++Of course, no nutrients work alone, so the diet, plus all

supplements are important since they work together. Please ensure

you are taking omega 3, vitamins A, D & E, vitamin C (which also

helps the skin), B vitamins including Niacin (B3), cal/mag, enough

ocean sea salt (for the minerals), etc. Niacin is particularly good

for helping the body detoxify through the skin.
