Guest guest
Hi Bee, I just wanted to link to some info I've uncovered. They state that in 1999 the FDA required that the labels of minerals like calcium and magnesium show the elemental amount. The second link explains better, where some companies may use something like this to get around the law - " calcium citrate...1g " -the combined amount of calcium and citric acid -However if it says " elemental calcium...150mg " OR - " calcium (as calcium citrate)...150mg " those both state the elemental amount. It seems that most companies use the latter and that " shady " companies probably use the first. Sorry if you've already went over this, Bee. I've just been having terrible D since upping my magnesium to 6 pills a day that states " 2 tablets=Magnesium (as magnesium citrate) 400mg " - ie 1.2g elemental magnesium a day. http://www.jigsawhealth.com/faqs_answer.aspx?articleID=493 http://www.mag-calplus.com/misconceptions.php -
