Guest guest
Dear Bee, How much vit. A should a 13 month old baby have? I am giving her 1ml (1/5 teaspoon) cod liver oil/day which provides 2,875IU vit A (Blue Ice Pure cod liver oil, Green Pasture). Is this too much for a baby this young? I have a chart from a health magazine where it says that children 1-3 years old should have no more than 600 mcg Vit A/day. Do you know how to transform 2,875IU in mcg vit. A? Can you, please, advise? I am concerned I am giving her to much cod liver oil/vit A!!! Is Green Pasture the best cod liver oil brand for children (I think here about mercury, other contaminants)? Another question I have for you. Do you think kids this age need more vitamins besides cod liver oil? Thank you, Bee. I cannot talk with the pediatrician about this, we have different opinions about vitamins. He recommends commercial vitamins for kids which are loaded with chemicals, etc.
