High Cholestrol levels have me frightened

Hi Bee, it's Gail here. Before I started this diet, my total cholestrol

level has hung around the 240's. It's been high like this since they

radioactively destroyed my thyroid in 2001, and I haven't been

successful in getting it down. Also, I have been so sick over the last

3 years, my diet was high in carbs, and not as good as it could be. I

was vegetarian for years, and it made me very ill, but I never ate a

lot of animal protein, until you diet.

I am now on only about 40-50 carbs a day, via " Men's Bread " and 1/4 cup

of brown rice (some days I don't even have that much). My

Triglycerides have been screaming in the 300's for years, but they

thank God came down. I am only on about 2 tablespoons of coconut oil

and about the same of butter, but only eat meat and green veggies all

day.

Here are my levels, and the normal ranges of the lab. I am afraid,

please give me your opinion Bee.

Cholesterol - 268H (greater than 200)

Triglyceride - 107 - (greater than 150) ** this is GREAT news!

HDL (bad) - 60 - (less than 45)

Percent HDL - 22L - (less than 27)

LDL chol,Calc.(good) - 190 H - (greater than 130)

VLDL - 18 - (0-29)

CHOL/HDL ratio - 4.5 (greater than 4.5)

I have a follow up appt with my doctor next week to review all my

results, but would love to hear your opinion on this. I would like to

stay on the diet, but I am afraid now that my cholestrol is getting

even higher now.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts Bee, thank you!

Gail
