Guest guest
Thanks Marla and Roni. Since I was told to follow up with my doctor this morning, I called and said a friend who has Hashimoto's said I should have free T3 checked. That's because they don't want to hear about anything I've read, especially if it was on the Internet. You know I've requested this before, but it hasn't been done. As usual they are going to call me back, and that is usually after 5 PM. I called the Mayo Clinic back too, told the nurse I have swelling on my face now, and they are going to call back also. Every time I've received a call back from that doctor's office, it has been the doctor himself who called back! I've been trying to talk with different doctors about hormones, and they think they know it all. When I took an article written by Dr. Oz, that says the newer estrogens help prevent breast Cancer, and the number one killer of women, heart disease, they don't want to hear it. I also told them I'd like to take it because it helps maintain bone density. A few days ago, at the end of the appointment, the doctor walked out, left the door open, and I heard him saying Dr. Oz, Dr. Oz. Why doesn't she go to Dr. Oz. I checked the credentials of Dr. Oz who went to Harvard, and they are far superior to those of my doctor, who went to the University of Central FL. I need to go to a woman, and there is one here who is knowledgable in this area. http://www.healthcarecrossing.com/article/440068/We-re-Off-to-See-the-Doctor-A-W\ onderful-Doctor-Named-Oz/ Barb On Fri, Jan 21, 2011 at 9:17 AM, flatwoodfarms <marlum@...> wrote: > > > I agree with Roni; you need to check more hormone levels. Guest guest
, Since I don't know a lot about medicine, you could be right. What I do know is that for the 27 years I took Estrace, which is estrogen without progesterine, I felt great and never had any health problems of any kind. I was younger then, but I just stopped taking it five years ago, and it's been downhill ever since. Guest guest
Actually, I just did some research, and it does say that for osteoporosis, one of the protocols is estrogen. Of course, I'm going to see my internist very soon, and I want an estrogen level test to see if I think this might be a good protocol for me. Dr. Oz, as all surgeons have to go through the same training as every other doctor, and then they ususally do more in their own department. For a new doctor, I'd agree with you, but with one that is so experienced (about 30 years), and so involved with many other areas of medicine, I would trust him over a hefty percentage of doctors that stay in their own little cubicles handing out the same recommendations for drugs day after day. Guest guest
Barb, I've had the same experience with the health thing except that I was also on progesterone. I want to get tested to see if I need these things now. I thought I didn't, because the hot flashes stopped but maybe I do. Who knows? <>Roni Immortality exists! It's called knowledge! Guest guest
Have you ever had Reiki perfomed on you? <>Roni Immortality exists! It's called knowledge! Just because something isn't seen doesn't mean it's not there<> From: <res075oh@...> Subject: Re: Another Day Another Doctor hypothyroidism Date: Monday, January 24, 2011, 5:44 AM That's your choice, of course. For me when I find someone is posting a number of things that are patently BS then it gives me cause to doubt anything he says. OTOH if you're into Rolfing and Reiki or similar scams he might be right up you alley. I'd personally vastly prefer you see someone who doesn't quack like a duck, but it's your choice. Guest guest
, you don't seem to know what Reiki is. There is no way that it could be unwise to try it. <>Roni Immortality exists!
