Guest guest
PS: Marla, I also have an enlarged thyroid gland, which is a multi-nodular goiter. That's not the swelling I am concerned about though, because I know what it is. Barb PS: Even the messages I send from gmail show up in AOL. I'll have to contact again. I know they corrected my primary address because I can send from gmail. I just don't understand why after I send them, they keep showing up in AOL. (Hypothyroidism) Re: Another Doctor Visit " When you say " swelling " , I'm not sure what you really mean. Is it a localized raised lump, a general swollen condition like edema ( fluid under the skin) in a certain area, or an actual gland that is enlarged? I have had edema and an enlarged thyroid. I know you had a fna on thyroid nodules, but the entire gland/lobe may also enlarge in a more fiberous manner. This could be related to Hashis and/or not enough thyroid. Is the swelling near your trachea in the neck or lower? Are the swollen areas tender to the touch? Marla " Hi Marla, Thanks for your reply. I would say it's a genera swollen condition like edema. The swelling is behind the collar bone at the base of my neck on both sides. There is also a little puffy swelling at the base of my neck in front. That's been there since mid-December. A few nights ago I noticed a round swollen area over my right cheekbone, which is exactly how the ones at the base of my neck started, It started out round, then became less defined and larger. The swollen areas aren't tender to touch. Weird isn't it? When I asked the doctor if he couldn't just do a needle biopsy, to see what it is, he said there is no way they are going to stick a needle in there when they don't know what it is. How are they going to find out what it is, if they don't take any out. Barb

Guest guest
Even though I had been sending from gmail, the group messages keep coming to AOL. I was copying the messages from AOL and pasting them into gmail to answer, so they would continue to be sent from gmail. Sometimes I just answer from AOL, since that's where I receive the group messages, even though my primary e-mail has been changed to gmail. I'm beginning to think I should have just resigned from the group with the AOL address, and rejoined with the gmail address. I still might do that if it doesn't get straightened out. I knew there was a reason I put off changing my e-mail address for so long.
