Guest guest
in 2006 i was diag. w/ PVC's - take beta blocker. PVCS been completely (few exceptions) in control since then UNTIL June 2010 when my gyn lowered my estrogen from an .,075 estradiol patch to a ..050 progesterone patch.... and things began to go to hell. this was further exacerbated by trying to find a drug that worked for my thyroid becuase the " OLD " armour was in a state of flux and then simply not available. tried natruethroid, tried gouing back to synthroid, tried 3 compounds (base in olive oil, base in powder (talc?) base in acidophilous) . I got worse and worse and my Free T4 was consistently below normal and my Free T3 was just barely over normal . the progesterone phase of my HRT since that time has been unbearable w/heart banging around, high anxiety from it, tears, hysteria - almost nervous breakdown conditions with all these factors contributing - and I am convinced that even thou the armour fiasco was a major contributor - the lower dose of estrgoen got almost IMMEDIATE negative impact going in my body. About 4 months ago I switched to new armour and slowly began to feeling better in some ways - less fatigue - less severe " always cold " problems, happier etc. etc., little by little the PVC's have become much worse over the last year but this past month (newly prescribed Zocor) I was quite ill with them. Had ekg yesterday which confirms frequent PVC's - skipping and extra beats. Its a nightmare. Doc says to stop all caffeine and it will get better. I don't think so. My whole life I have been a coffee drinker - at least 3 cups a day sometimes more. I put it in a travel cup and drink - cold = throughout the day. I eat chocolate every day - so why suddenly the severe PVC's?????? I have an order for a doppler study ro rule out mitral valve prolapse (but doc doesn't think its that - just being safe). In april of last year was admitted to hospital as emergency for complete cardiac workup (turned out to be severe GI distress -hernia) and given lots of tests - on treadmill test achieved 86% percentile of my age group -62 with no PVC's etc. - ruled to have a sound healthy heart with no evidence of heart disease. Soooooooooooo my gut tells me that either my estrogen or thyroid meds are causing me trouble or the Zocor (which i found out last night can cause rapid or irregular heartbeats???!??!??!!!!!!!!) are helping me to me miserable. I am MOST miserable during the 12 days of progesterone on the HRT. Here are my blood results of 1-26-2011 on l l/2 grain of new armour . Meds were taken 5-l/2 hours before blood work. Any thoughts here most appreciated . Ferritin 62 range 20-288 Free T4 .9 .8 to l.8 TSH 3rd Generation .46 .40 to 4.50 Free T3 3.7 2.3 to 4.2 My metabolic panel was all completely normal - everything pretty much mid range w/only exception of Globulin, Calculated score of 2.7 with norms of 2.2 to 3.9 and Bilirubin ttl score of 0.5 with norms of .02 to l.2. Your help appreciated folks - P.S> I am post meno - 62 yrs, hypo Non Hashi's, last saliva adrenal was okay -, use HRT, take l l/2gr Armour a day, take l fluid pill 12 l/2 mg a day, 2.5 mg Norvasc daily and 50 mg Tenormin a day for BP and PVCS.
