Hi all, I received my new test results, Here were my previous numbers:

In July (before starting amour), it was:

TSH: 3.56 (.27-4.2)

Free T4: 1.32 (.93-1.7)

Free T3: 3.7 (2.57-4.43)

He started me on armour due to the TSH.

3 months after taking Armour 60mg per day, (30 twice per day) the free T4

and free T3 were going down.

The numbers were:

TSH: 1.46

Free T4: .95

Free T3: 2.8

After that, he increased my dose to 90mg per day, my numbers are

TSH: .034 (.27-4.2)

Thyroxine T4: 6.7 (4.5-12) (it didn't say free t4 this time on the lab)

Free T3: 4.7 (2.57-4.43)

so now I am apparently HYPERactive. I dont think I should have been on

these meds to begin with. He told me to decrease to 30mg twice per day. I

believe that I should just stop taking the meds, it got too high.

I dont know what to do ..advice?

I agree that you need to reduce the dose, but do it slowly, not so suddenly.

Then give your body about 4 to 6 weeks before you test again. If it's going in

the right direction but just needs a bit more in that direction you can continue

slowly. If it gets too low too fast, then further testing needs to be done,

including tests for binding and Reverse T3 to see if you are converting. Chuck

knows more about the binding issues.

Either dose (60 mg/d or zero) makes sense based on the TSH. Again, FT3

will depend on timing of the blood draw, and TT4/FT4 should be low-ish

on Armour. I would base the decision on symptoms. You didn't mention how

you felt before each test.
