Hi Its currently nearly 1am in the UK and I have a doctors appointment today at

9.30am in our totally new doctors with a new gp.

As some of you may be aware I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in 2003 and

fibromyalgia in 2004.

I am currently taking 500mcgs of thyroxine.

I have not had a " normal " thyroid reading in all this time.

Since being diagnosed I have gained over 7 stones in weight (nearly 100 pounds)

despite being on less then 1000 calories a day and walking everywhere.

I feel as though my body is shutting down now.

I am struggling every day is a battle. I am finding it very hard. I am a 32 year

old woman, married with 3 children aged 12 9 and 3, the youngest being disabled.

This was due to me having a underactive thyroid during pregnancy, she has

hypotonia and developmental delays.

I dont now what to do, I have begged for help in the past and all they do is

raise the thyroxine all the time.

Then say wait for 6 months and see if that helps. :(.

Can anyone advise me what to say and do at the new appointment today?.

I have never had a sympathetic dr at all, they never help me with my weight and

breathlessness issues and I am very thirsty now all the time. whereas I never

used to drink liquids a lot. just a few sips here and there.

Please help as I feel this is my last chance to get something done.

Thanks Emma
