Hi I was diagnosed march last year with an underactive thyroid and found the

members very helpful and reassuringly knowledgable, I think with any disorder

people hope for a complete cure I researched many 'alternative' therapies and

decided to use my energy on other more constructive activities and eating well

and taking the replacement hormone.

I hope everyone can get along and support each other through this crap disease.

Oh by the way has anyone else got relating autoimmune diseases like ms or lichen

septoria? I have the latter and suspect ms but only time will tell.

They never positively discuss any alternative treatments or even the mere

possibility of the existence of one. And always collude to attack anyone that

dares brings an alternative into discussion.

The more common pairings are with diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, and

celiac. My niece has the celiac with her hypoT. However, there are two

types Hashi's antibodies, and it is beginning to appear that each has

its own family of autoimmune favorites. One type of multiple autoimmune

syndrome mixes Sjogren’s syndrome, rheumatoid arthritis, primary biliary

cirrhosis, scleroderma, and Graves’ disease. The other group includes

idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), ’s disease, diabetes,

vitiligo, autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AIHA), lupus, and dermatitis

herpetiformis. For this group, the immune system marker HLA-B8 and/or

DR3 or DR5 seems to be an important factor.

By lichen septoria, do you mean a variant of lichen planus? I thought

septoria was a leaf fungus. :)

An appointment with a naturopath (recently trained) would help get you on a path

to health...it would involve permanent diet changes and supplements (at least

for awhile) www.naturopathic.org to find a practitioner.

It has changed my life....one need not live a life of increasing meds and

increasing maladies.
