Neuropathy. was: Hot flashes?

I also was diagnosed with neuropathy a number of years ago; long before

my hypothyroidism. That concerned me because I knew an older man who

had it. He was a fantastic guitarist and eventually got to the point

that he could no longer play; he would come to the jam sessions with

gloves on, no matter how warm the temperature was here in Florida. It

was my understanding from him that it is a progressive disease, and he

stated it takes about 25 years for it to go from your feet [where my

symptoms are] to all of your body. He also indicated there is no

effective treatment; I don't know if that is true or not. My personal

symptoms were that my feet would feel extremely cold although they were

warm to the touch. Further, my circulation was excellent.

However, over the past few years my symptoms have decreased greatly. I

still will sometimes have a " cold feet " feeling when the weather is

cold, but not nearly so often or nearly so bad as I would in the past.

I must admit I understand it exceedingly poorly.
