Guest guest
I was DX'ed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis a couple years ago and had been on levo ever since. In the past year I started experiencing a " pounding " heart problem. I rarely consume caffeine but have been under increased stress recently. I do not think it should be enough stress to justify this problem continuously. My BP and pulse are within normal limits. I have trouble sleeping because of what feels like a pounding heart. It is annoying. Otherwise I'm ok. But if one can't sleep right... I'm baffled as to the cause. Any ideas? Here is my most recent blood test results. Guest guest
I would try two things.....magnesium and potassium. supplementing potassium is tricky so I would search " high potassium vegetables " and make sure I eat more of those. Your potassium was in range but diet inclusion won't hurt. I take mag glycinate, but there are other useful forms. Mag can give loose stools so I would start with 400 mg in the am and then 400 pm. My heart palps and pounding was related to mal-digestion so I actually had to supplement other things until I could rebuild my digestion. Increased stress means increased cortisol which affects digestion and the intestinal lining. Once the ball starts rolling , it is self-perpetuating. Epsom salts soaks increased mag almost as soon as you start them, making sleep better usually from when you start them. Calcium needs to be paired with mag to be effectively utilized otherwise it will build up in the blood. Your cortisol was a one time " picture " rather than a four times per day cortisol test which is more useful in pinpointing daily highs and lows. I hope someone else weighs in on this because my explanations are quite simplistic. Joan I was DX'ed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis a couple years ago and had been on levo ever since.
