Guest guest
I personally would be a bit leery of following Dr. Holtorf's advice, although FAIK much of it may be accurate. But a perusal of his web page produces this as the very first sentence: " Kent *Holtorf*, M.D. is an expert in natural bioidentical hormone replacement... " . The reason this raises an alarm with me is simply this: I know that a lot of quacks promote their services by lauding their BIOIDENTICAL hormones for hypothyroidism treatment. Here's a simple fact: ALL of the T4 and T3 regardless of the source is bioidentical. That is, all of the molecules of the active ingredient are exactly alike. What your body makes; what a pig or cow makes; and what is manufactured are ALL bioidentical. So a suggestion by any provider that his services are somehow superior because he prescribes bioidentical T4 or T3 is simply blatantly false; he cannot prescribe any other kind. If a provider deliberately chooses to fly under false colors how can you trust him with your health and life? Here's another promo that raises a few concerns: .. " There are lots of remedies and cures that are available on the website as well, all of which have been engineered personally by *Dr*. Kent *Holtorf* . The *Holtorf* Medical Group, Inc. is a very successful project that is run by *Dr*. Kent as well, and the services provided by this Medical Group are revolutionary. Making use of the bio-identically hormone replacement method... " .. .. So he sells remedies. Maybe even bioidentical T4 and T3? Why am I not surprised? AND he personally engineered them all himself. No real surprise there... Unless you have some vague clue as to what is actually involved in creating and testing an effective medicine. You might also be interested in the Fox News incident where he was presented as " an infectious disease expert " in discussing an aspect of swine flu or the vaccine. The fact is that his resume contains no reference whatsoever to any training as an infectious disease specialist. When I see so many warning flags I take note. YMMV.
