Guest guest
I have been struggling with severe illness since 1997. Slowly over the past 3 years I have learned a lot. The books that I worship at the moment are " Breaking the Vicious Cycle, " " Gut and Psychology Syndrom, " " Feeling Fat, Fuzzy or Frazzled? " and " Amalgum Illness. " I have also been following Dr. Klinghardt, a researcher dealing with Pyrrole & Lyme disease. I have been diagnosed with CFS & Fibromyalgia Hypothyroid with antibodies Kryptopyrrole: drains the body of vit/min disabling enzymes by binding to heavy metals High histamine Adrenal exhaustion Low B (likely from destroyed digestive tract) Low Zinc Severe malabsorption Susceptibility to bad gut bacteria, viruses and parasites Self-diagnosed susceptiblity to methylation blocks (Recovered via Freddds Vit B protocol) Will be testing for heavy metal toxicity soon due to the pyrrole disorder and symptoms The CFS/Fibro really doesn't fit. After I began the SCD diet, my debilitating pain went away, my brain pain and functioning improved, my hypoglycemia dissipated and slowly but surely I am digesting more food. I am still working my way through SCD phase 3 and it's been 6 months so far - slower than average. I am taking: Compounded T4/T3 Thyroid 25/37.5 mcg Cortisol 10 mg Full basic vit/min Essential Fatty Acids L-glutamine Methylation associated supplements Kryptopyrrole associated supplements Digestive Enzymes On this protocol, I was still adrenally flat, one wrong word would leave me bedbound. My hair was falling out again too after having been stable for a year and my thyroid has been hurting the last few weeks. I ordered an endocrine test from canaryclub.org that I will be taking on Friday. I read " Feeling Fat, Fuzzy or Frazzled? " , a book that looks at the thyroid, adrenals and sex hormones. Making changes to one of these can apparently lead to changes in the others. I just added Immoplex Glandular (Adrenal, Pancreas, Thymus, Spleen) 1x/day 2 weeks ago and within 24 hours of starting I began feeling better than anytime I can remember. I am still messed up severely though, this just shows how deep the pit is that I am climbing out of. The light in the eye trick shows that my adrenals are still very bad off. I can't wait to get my endocrine tests back to figure out my next step. Is there anyone in this group that has been able to migrate from the pharma drugs to over the counter glandulars, supplements and creams? Are there others of you dealing with some of the same mult-faceted issues as me? What have you done that has helped? I need to balance my endocrine system before I can move on to the Andy Cutler protocol. Just curious if anyone has been able to pull their endocrine system back into shape. Thanks, Jacki

If your antibodies are positive, how are you titrating or adjusting your dosage? Chuck
Guest guest
Hi Chuck, In the past, my dosage has been adjusted after taking a blood test (from what I have read, this is not a good method). I have lost my Dr., she did 'ok' but I must find another. My last blood test, in August, showed that my T4 was being suppressed so she added Synthroid. My T3 became too high so we reduced my dose a little bit. While searching for a new Dr., I am schooling myself on the endocrine system and will be taking a Saliva 4x Cortisol, Pg, T, DS, E2 and Blood Spot for TSH, fT3, fT4, TPO, LH, FSH. I don't know why they don't add rT3. ?? I certainly hope that all of my symptoms/issues are related to low thyroid! That would make things easier for me to balance. I suspect that all of my issues began due to the kryptopyrrole which would have affected my thyroid causing all of those symptoms. Guest guest
Thank you, Joan! If or whenever you are able, if there are books or recommendations on what to learn/focus on/be aware of, etc., anything would be appreciated. I will be moving from overseas to PA this summer and I found a Dr located there that is well schooled on Andy Cutler's protocol which should fully involve supporting the thyroid and adrenals. I need to speak with there office to get more info first. I hope to get my body better balanced by then so that I will be able to function at a new job. For anyone, Are there recommendations for endocrinologists or regular Dr.s in the Philidelpia, PA or Cherry Hill, NJ area? Guest guest
Unfortunately there are no glandulars, supplements and creams that are effective in treating hypothyroidism. Whatever benefit you see will not exceed chance or placebo. When you have hypothyroidism your thyroid gland does not produce enough T4/T3, which you have to have to live; so you need to replace it. The antibodies mean that you have Hashimoto's; and this means that your thyroid output may vary all over the place until your thyroid gland is destroyed. As the output varies your need for supplemental T4 or T3 will likewise vary. I generally approach health care from the allopathic/scientific view to whatever level I can [since I'm not a doctor or scientist]. So my feeling is that you need professional help in getting to the bottom of your issues. The greatest result you will notice from most of the over-the-counter concoctions is the lightening of your wallet. Guest guest
Your list of illnesses tells me that your thyroid needs to be corrected first. I would definitely have your RT3 checked, because if your body is not converting the T4 properly, it doesn't much matter what you're supplement with. It happened to me and I had to change to a T3 only protocol, and I do feel much better. You have many things that need actual medical testing, and I am a person that uses both types of medicine. My Rheumatologist checked me for most of the things you mentioned below, and when the RT3 was checked it was very clear that was the culprit. I have Fibro too, arthritis, and several other things. I am very chemically sensitive, so most of my " medications " are actually vitamins, mineral, enzymes, hormones and herbs. I am lucky to have a cardiologist who will rx these things for me. They have accepted the reality that not all people can thrive on pharmaceutical chemicals.  I think that is the kind of doctor you need to find, a medical doctor who also uses complementary medicine where appropriate. If you look for this up front you could save yourself a lot of time and agony.  Good luck to you. Roni > > > I have been struggling with severe illness since 1997. Depends on the circumstances. TSH is effective for the vast majority of people for initial screening. Titrating the dosage can be problematic for about 5% of hypoT people, based on the number of people that seek T3 type medications. If you are one of those unlucky few, it is a terrible test. For everyone else, it is fine. >... T4 was being suppressed so she added Synthroid. My T3 became too > high so we reduced my dose a little bit.... Since you have antibodies, you should expect your need for T4/T3 to gradually increase, perhaps in a ratcheting pattern. Since you know you have Hashi's, another TPO test would be redundant. However, this can be a difficult period when the antibodies are active. I would suggest that finding any reasonably knowledgeable doctor quickly should be a priority over finding perfection. You need someone who will adjust your dosage intelligently until the thyroid is destroyed and your need for replacement hormones stabilizes. RT3 is always present, so for this test to be useful, it must detect a significant elevation relative to T3. You can get that to happen just by taking too much T4. So, it can be a difficult test to interpret, and the condition detected is relatively rare. It is also rather costly, so neither doctors nor insurance companies favor routine use. Guest guest
Hey Jackie, I agree with Joan's earlier advice to seek the help of a Naturopath. I looks like your system is out of balanced. Most doctors will load you up with drugs to deal with your different " diseases " and most likely this will cause you further problems. I've noticed how most people suffering from more than one ailment are usually " over medicated " with drugs for each ailment. Often these people never recover and only continue to acquire more ailments and more " medicine " . It is a vicious circle. You can look for a type of treatment that will seek to detoxify your body and help your system regain it's natural balance. A Naturopath will work to do this for you. Also do look at your levels of stress and do find a way to be calmed and peaceful if this applies to you. If you ever notice, people who are at peace and relaxed are usually healthy and the opposite also applies. I hope you get well soon and wish you the best of luck. > > > I have been struggling with severe illness since 1997. ... > > > > > > I have been diagnosed with > > > CFS & Fibromyalgia > > > Hypothyroid with antibodies > > > Kryptopyrrole: drains the body of vit/min disabling enzymes by binding > > > to heavy metals > > > High histamine > > > Adrenal exhaustion > > > Low B (likely from destroyed digestive tract) > > > Low Zinc > > > Severe malabsorption > > > Susceptibility to bad gut bacteria, viruses and parasites > > > Self-diagnosed susceptiblity to methylation blocks (Recovered via > > > Freddds Vit B protocol) > > > Will be testing for heavy metal toxicity soon due to the pyrrole > > > disorder and symptoms > > > > Many elements of this list could be traced to the thyroid alone, but you > > seem to be on a relatively low dose of the T4/T3 combination.
