Guest guest
hi linda & welcome. i am pretty new to this group myself and have an almost identical story to yours. i too have a 5 yr old son who is up to date on his vax and a new baby born oct. 26 and i will not be giving any new vax to either of them. you are right that some of your dr.s objections sounded suspicious--because they'll say whatever they think will make you continue w/ the series of shots (they also need to feel that they are doing the right thing, because if they are not--then what have they done to thousands of children in their own practice). i have never heard the argument about the antibiotics, but you know what--you don't want to give your kids antibiotics for an earache anyway. read dr. mendolsohn's " how to raise a healthy child in spite of your ped. " he explains in a great way why it's not a good idea to medicate over earaches--your ped. will love when you tell them you're not giving antibiotics for that. twice, when i went in for my son's well visits, they informed me of an earache (once they told me my son-age 2 at the time) that he supposedly had in both ears, that i was totally unaware of. it couldn't have been that bad if it wasn't even bothering him!! anyway ,good luck to you--your children will benefit from the choice you have made. brigit
Guest guest
>Her arguments were > suspicious to me, some made no sense at all. For example, she said > unvaccinated people don't live as long. I told her my grandmother > only had flu shots in her later years and lived to be 95. So also said my > oldest son is fine and had no reaction - I than corrected her and said > he did have a reaction he screamed for an hour after the DTP shot. > Well, they've changed the vaccine since then she said. Then she said > that unvaccinated people to not respond well to antibotics, and > therefore if I don't give him his shots, an earache could kill him. , When she makes these kinds of claims ask her for the research data to back up her statements. Personally, if I had a doctor make these kinds of statements to me, I'd be looking for a new doctor. Oh, and I second the suggestion to read " How To Raise a Healthy Child...In Spite of Your Doctor. I'm reading it now and it's a great book. Good luck,

Has > anyone heard this argument before? All those ear infections, and problems like glue ear, are caused by vaccination " . When I asked her who is her father, she said " he is an ENT specialist in Brisbane, Australia " . I also asked her whether he tells other parents to do the same thing. This is not a singular example of the dishonesty of the vaccination system that they are afraid to take their own medicine.
