FT4 at the bottom of the range has been documented to affect mood. However, the other results suggest that any hypoT symptoms are probably being caused by something else. FT3 is the most critical, and it is slightly below the middle. If you are not on medication, that is likely a circadian variation. If you are on a medication, you would probably feel better with a bit higher dose. Chuck
Guest guest
Hi Chuck, Thank you for your input. I am not on any medications, my sodium level is low, so my GP is thinking of checking out my adrenals, a few of the symptoms can be from my Multiple Sclerosis, but maybe the T4 is what is causing my out of nowhere anxiety and tears. Thanks’ so much to all who have helped me. Dena Rick & Dena Gustaf Trinity Boer Goats www.trinityboergoats.com maraul@... Maraul Bulldogs www.maraulbulldogs.com maraul@... Guest guest
Are you on replacement therapy? To me it looks like your FreeT3 is low, as well as your Free T4, if you are taking thyroid hormone. The first should be close to the top of the range and the second about the middle or a little above. Adrenal anomalies (and dieting and pregnancy) can affect binding of T4, which could result in both FT3 and FT4 being lower than optimal. I am not aware of MS directly causing this, but that is a complex issue. Did you hear there have been several very recent breakthroughs in drugs for MS? My son-in-law's sister has the condition. Guest guest
One year when I suddenly got those exact symptoms, I went to my Rheumatologist and he gave me B12 injections that I could do myself at home. They were very easy to do, did not hurt and all the equipment as well as the B12 was filled at the drugstore with his rx. It worked, and the symptoms subsided and went away, (not on day one, but over a couple of weeks) By the time I was on them (once a week) for about two months, I didn't need them anymore and stopped. Guest guest
Hi Roni, I am glad your rheumatologist tested your B12 levels, I know that can cause many issues that mimic many illnesses, including neurological, my B12 levels are good thankfully. In my opinion B12, and D levels should be one of the first things doctors check when a patient comes in with neurological and emotional issues. I am happy you do not have to take it anymore, I guess one of the symptoms of MS can be some emotional issues depending on when the lesions are.
