Guest guest
Thanks for the info Ally, I haven't tried my primary yet, so I will do that and you are so right about the benadryl, it makes me feel the same way , groggy and wiped out . Guest guest
Thanks Willem for the advice. I just lost my job and my dogs hind legs stopped working this week. It seems like everything happens at once sometimes. I have to get him to a neurologist which will be very expensive but I have no choice, dogs are like children to me and I have to know I am doing everything I can even if I end up living under a bridge in the process hahaha. But I do feel lucky to be a responder so far so I am trying to only focus on that good news at this time and look at the other stuff as life and its ups and downs. Guest guest
Try Melatonin (sp) it's over the counter and is a natural thingy that's in the brain to make you sleepy. It didn't keep me asleep but it will help me doze off. My primary doc says he'd rather I take a prescription sleep med and not take benadryl for sleep. It makes me groggy for 24 hours, not just 12 and it slows reaction time, he says worse than drinking the night before, for things like driving etc. I don't know why your doc won't give you meds to help sleep. I suggest talking to your primary care doc maybe to get some. What worked best for me was Elavil, an old antidepressant that isn't used for depression anymore but works great to help people with these kinds of problems sleep. It doesn't work for everyone of course, but it did work for me. Trazadone also works well, as does Ativan. I know people with end stage cirrhosis who take meds to help them sleep. So I don't know why your doc wouldn't unless he is just being very very careful with the meds he gives you. However, you are the only one who can know how your sleep is going, so either insist with him (he does work for you after all), or find a suppement doc to work with you in getting the extra meds you need to sleep. I get my sleep meds from my primary care physician. My gastro only prescribed my treatment meds. My psychiatrist and my primary doc did all the other prescribing (antidepressant, sleeping med, pain meds). Good luck! Let us know what happens. Guest guest
HI.Very much sounds my Doctor.Hew told me that it.s addictive and bad for your liver.I don.t agree because the insomnia is bad for everything.Try valerian in combibation with a glass of luke-warm port,a mild shower and have a low temperature in your bedroom but most important of all is to relax,if you do hve a partner let him give you a massage and I.am not being funny this time.There.re techniques to massage the head and so indulging relaxiation and sleep. If you hve a change take naps in the afternoons.Anyway you lucky girl being a responder now and another two months you join the club of sustained responder, absolutely sure.courage,willem. Re: Insomnia I am expereincing insomnia too, real bad. My doctor does not seem to want to prescribe anything for it and says to take Benadryl. I take two 25mg of Benadryl but that isnt working anymore. It definitely adds to the exhaustion level that you already have on treatment. Anyone know why he might be hesitant? I checked out as non detectable at month 3 and have 2 monthe of treatment left. I was grade 2 fibrosis so stil in a safe zone there. Has anyone tried anything over the counter that works for them ? Guest guest
HI.Sorry to hear about your dog,you must be a good person because you care about animals.You.ll get rewards for this in a unexpected way.I had dogs and sometimes it.s a temporarily thing, unless the dog is old.Try a veterinarian and tell him you have no money, you have a great change that they help the dog anyway or make a deal to pay later(I owe you thing) when your circumstances have improved, afterall we.re all people and need to help each other.Sounds stupid but I hve taken dogs and cats from people who had no money, homeless etc,and took them to the vet. and they got treated anyway, even operations.Luck will come your way.Willem. Guest guest
Hi Willem, thanks for the encouraging words, I was able to borrow money from a friend that I can pay back over the next year so now its just a wait and see, it can take a while for them to recover and walk again if they are going too. He was overweight so we have to be strong and keep him on a diet. He is such a cute begger that we broke down too many times and fed him when we should not have. Guest guest
Dear Lonie, I have found the most wonderful, natural remedy for insommnia and anxiety. It is called Calms Forte, and it is homeopathic, can be purchased in any health food store, and costs only a few dollars for a whole bottle. I usually have no trouble sleeping, but, if something upsets me, sometimes I cannot get to sleep. I put a few Calms Forte under my tongue, let them dissolve, and, by the time they do, I am relaxed, dreaming and passed out. If you wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep, just take a few more! There are NO side effects, they are safe for children and pets, and are the MOST WONDERFUL remedy I have ever come across. My sister told me about them, she used to take them for PMS. Take one, they calm you down--two or more work for sleep. Good luck, AntJoan
Guest guest
Hi Joan I also you Calms Forte but the directions on mine say to take with water versus under the tongue. And drinking water at bedtime isn't a good idea for me. Sandy

Dear Sandy, I know what the directions say, but I used to see a homeopathic doctor for my sinuses (he didn't help me at all), and he always told me to dissolve the remedies under my tongue, so that's how I take the Calms Forte. It works really great for me like that. Do you find it helpful? Not only does it help me sleep if I'm upset, but it gets rid of all the bad feelings before I drift off into a nice, restful sleep. I swear, I love the stuff! Take care, AntJoan
Guest guest
I'll try it that way. The water before bed was a turn off. I'll let you know how I do. I'll try it tonite. Sandy
Guest guest
hi could you please provide the website that supplies the free download? thanks d > > From: " jadespring2003 " <jadespring2003@...> > Date: 2005/01/05 Wed AM 08:27:33 EST > qxci-english > Subject: insomnia > > Hi all, I wrote before about Attractor Field Therapy (AFT) where you can download for free the manual on the Web. My husband used the sleeping disorders protocol with tremendous success. After using it three days in a row he no longer takes any sleep aids (natural of course). The stuff really works -- I just completed the seven-day Lyme protocol and am waiting to see how that worked out. The whole idea of an attractor field being the cause of an illness makes sense. I hope Bill can eventually incorporate this idea into the QX. The QX Relaxation/Sleep program works sometimes and sometimes not. I myself used it last year and there were nites when it seemed to keep me awake, other nites when I went immediately to sleep. I didn't want to work on the NLP beforehand because I find using the Qx before bed can be stimulating. I have another newsletter on my web site www.jadespring.com which talks about the QX. Feel free to take a look. is Rotella, M.Ac. Arnold, Md. .............................................

You need to be on some type of benzo as well, to calm you down and help you sleep. Klonopin worked wonders for me. When you say the doctors are not listening, what does that mean exactly? What are they saying to you? Please hang in there, this is temporary. Margaret
Guest guest
Dear Margaret, I am on a long acting benzo already ( in fact, it is a sleeping pill benzo) I take it in the day even and only sort of feel the effects. It is one at night and one in the day. I guess I could try 2 at night but I really need the one in the day ..so it is a problem of running out. and because I go to a county clinic they are not going to just give me more. alison oh drs are not listening that lexapro is not helping ( I have been on it for 5/6 months . I cannot tolerate the sides so I am on too low a dose really..but I cannot get above what I am on or I panic. I asked to change meds and they refused..lex is a miracle drug to this one Dr. I called about the sleep more than one time..and I am not getting help) On Wed, 23 Mar 2005 18:11:40 EST margaretmkelly@... writes: > > > In a message dated 3/23/2005 12:07:17 P.M.
