Guest guest
That happened to me the first couple of times I took it, now I take around 630 pm and I sleep really good. The morning is a little rough for me. It's hard to wake up. But after about an hour or so I feel ok. Guest guest
Nina, The study you cite is still valid. Another published in 2003 (Natarajan, Am J Prev Med 25:50-57) states basically the same thing. About insomnia, VCO is converted into energy. So if you eat VCO too late at night it will keep you up because of the increased energy. For this reason, I do not take it after 7:00 pm or I will be awake for hours after my 10:00 pm bedtime. It is interesting but in people who suffer from insomnia VCO helps them sleep better. This is an example of VCOs biodirectional or balancing effect on the body. Bruce Re: Weight Gain Nina: I too have terrible Insomnia, so I have cut down on the VCO to 1/2 tsp. per meal. It has helped some but the only way I can sleep is to take NONE. Guest guest
Nina: I wrote to say that I have terrible Insomnia the other day. Did you not receive it? I started off with the 1 tbsp. with each meal and after a few days I was WIRED. I am now down to 1/2 tsp. at each meal and CANNOT have any after 1:00 pm if I want to sleep. For me, it is definitely the VCO. One night I took a sleeping pill that always works fast and keeps me asleep all night and guess what? I didn't fall asleep till 6:00 am, that's murder. Guest guest
Bonnie, no, I didn't see any other note from you except for the one preserved below. I have been having trouble sleeping but now I am suspecting that it may be something else. I am checking it out and I will pass on my results to the list when I feel sure. I was struck by someone on the list who said VCO helps her sleep. So if it's not an across-the-board stimulant against sleep, then why me? In the meanwhile, if you refrain from VCO after 1pm, does that work? Nina Re: insomnia Nina: I wrote to say that I have terrible Insomnia the other day. Did you not receive it? Guest guest
I find I have a hard time getting to sleep when I have been out in the cold and my body is chilled. I feel hungry. I keep a mixture of butter and coconut oil on hand for frying. If I eat a tablespoon of the combination before bed, I sleep much sounder. In the hotter months, eating cocnut oil at bedtime keeps me more awake. Guest guest
Ah! So it's warming in the winter and too warming in the summer. Very interesting. In general, I have a harder time sleeping in the summer, but I don't think it's because of the heat, because I have air conditioning. I think it is because my diet changes and I eat fewer of the grounding, root vegetables (parsnips especially, carrots also). Without these I cannot sleep at all. I have taken to eating lots of cooked parsnips in the evening. It really helps. Ginger also helps a lot. I always have a cup of strong ginger tea before bedtime. Guest guest
Yes, the Insomnia is much less, if I don't have any VCO after lunch. Dr. Fife says he can't sleep if he has it after 7:00 pm. Because of this I can't include it with my supper and my blood sugar is a bit higher at night, so I have to be careful. Guest guest
I've not been able to sleep much at night on Lex myself, but I am just getting back on it and I'm out of my Ambien. Maybe I will switch to AM later, but I'm weaning off Cymbalta and taking it then. Guest guest
Just curious, how long did you take ambien for and how much, how often? Any trouble getting off of ambien? Thanks, david > > > > Have many users found Lexapro helpful with sleeping through the night? > > If so how long did it take before the sleep got better? > > >
Guest guest
, I'm not " off " of Ambien totally. I just picked up Lunesta yesterday to try again this month, but I do have refills on Ambien. Vicki
Guest guest
I have taken ambien for over a year and I take it every night. My GP knows that I take it every night and if I don't take it I don't sleep. Haven't found Lexapro to help with sleeping. I tried a couple of nights and after a couple of hours of reading and looking at the ceiling I ended up taking the Ambien. Earline --------------------------------- Expecting? Guest guest
How many mg.'s of Ambien do you take each night? Are you concerned about becoming addicted to it? I had trouble getting addicted to xanax a while ago. It seems that Ambien works on the GABA receptors as do the benzodiazepines. Anyone know how addictive Ambien is? . > > I have taken ambien for over a year and I take it every night. My GP knows that I take it every night and if I don't take it I don't sleep. Guest guest
I take the CR 12.5 mg and I am certainly concerned about addition in that I probably will not sleep without it. My GP says he's surprised that it still works for me. He says most people develop a tolerance to it. It usually works but I do have some nights where I don't sleep all night but those are rare. Guest guest
I don't have Insomnia.. But did took the Lexapro for week and having a terrible anxiety. So went to dr yesterday, she told me the Lexapro is not for me.. she gave me Effexor XP. Insomnia When is this insomnia going to end. This is how it started back in December I started to have trouble sleep and after a few days I started to panic. I feel so anxious. When is it going to stop? Guest guest
Insomnia is usually too much wheat and carbs in the diet and not enough oils. The thyroid and adrenals need to be in balance. Look also at the body clock times in cranial sacral. This is the liver/gallbladder time, these become affected if carbs are too high in the diet. Is the person hungry? For cleansing 5 drops of wild oregano oil at bedtime might do the trick, but wheat is certainly one of the main contributors. A hormone check is recommended. Guest guest
Parasites or "worm" may be involved in these type of issues yes (you can find locations in the Test Matrix Auto Zap dropdown, in the Darkfield Blood Treatments and Disease Dictionary, but there may also be other issues to consider such as Amino acid or fatty acid deficiencies, mineral imbalances or Neurotransmitters which may be involved. You might also want to go to Timed Therapies Music & Superlearning then Timed Treatments for help with Sleep & Relaxation or choose one of the NLP dropdowns. Guest guest
I used to take Flexeril. That stopped working after a couple months. Then I tried Melatonin. Gave me nightmares. My doc gave me 5 mg. Elavil. That only worked for about 6 months. Right now nothing works. I hope you will find something that works for you. Guest guest
Presently I take 10 mg zolpidem (generic ambien - sleep med) at bedtime and 4 hours later when I wake up, I take 1 mg lorazepam (generic ativan - anti-anxiety med) and can sleep or doze another 2-4 hours. My list of current meds, etc. is at http://www.fms-help.com/what.htm Just wish all of us with this problem were helped by the same meds - seems it's a trial and error experience for all of us. One thing I learned was to not get the full prescription filled when trying new things, because often they don't work for me.
