Guest guest
Taking T3 only was started by me after I became very ill from the " new " armour, and testing was done, showing that my body was not converting the T4 to T3 properly, and most of it was just being turned into RT3 and blocking the cells from getting any T3. It has been said that most people can take T4 only, and that has been the most often used protocol since the 70's I believe. However, since the 40's, Armour was the drug of choice by doctors for their hypothyroid patients. Then one of the drug companies invented Synthroid, and the medical establishment suddenly changed their protocol to that. If it works, fine. If it doesn't, we have to look elsewhere. I don't think an only-T3 product was what was referred to, but one with the full spectrum of hormones, like Armour. T3-only therapy has never come up with any of my docs. Is there " clinical evidence " /journal articles showing that it works? What are the pros and cons, if yes?
