Guest guest
Hello, I have sent a few times about the subject of my cyst. The past few weeks the size of my cyst seems to have decreased that it may have been cured. The cyst was the size of the cap of a soda bottle. The past 2 weeks I cannot feel or find it anywhere on my left side of my throat no matter what direction I turn my head. Just today I have gone for pre-op tests for the surgery I am to have to have my thyroids removed but I decide to have a second opinion. I have made another appointment with the thyroid specialist and I want another ultrasound to be absolutely positive that the cyst is still there and needs to be removed. This probably sounds dumb but just what if I am right, that the cyst is no longer there. That will save me so much unnecessary stress, to say the least, on my mind and body. Has this ever happened to anyone before? Louise
Guest guest
I think you are absolutely doing the right thing by getting a second opinion. I hope you're getting it from a doctor who is not connected to the first doctor in any way. Another hospital would be a good idea. Everyone who has been told they need surgery needs a second opinion. Also, the first diagnosis could have been wrong. That has definitely happened before.
