Guest guest
Hi Bobbi, I’m not using coconut oil but I am drinking the coconut milk from Wilderness Family Naturals. My weight is slowly coming down, but the Spinning group I belong has too many party meetings. It’s very hard to turn down cake and ice cream when it’ s a friends birthday. I’m finding that I can’t eat near as much as I used to! ;-) This year we put about 20 quarts of organic tomatos in the freezer. Today I added the following to a pint of the tomatos. garlic, onion, basil, salt, pepper, quarter of a stick of butter and a carton (8 oz) of the coconut milk. Yummm! Yummmm! I’ve also added the coconut milk to a meat and veggie mix that I make. Even my husband like it. And he’s a die-hard meat, potatoes and veggie man. Almost nothing else is worth eating, according to him. Enjoy! ;-) Judith Alta -----Original Message----- Hi my name is Bobbi and I just joined this group. I've posted many messages at the coconut-info group, but they never get through!!! So I'm pleased to find a open forum that we can share our experiences. I've been using VCO since October 10th, along with a low carb diet and a exercise regimen and I feel wonderful already! So far I have lost 7.5 lbs! I've also been using it on my face and body and I can't believe how much softer my skin is. So, I'm curious how many of you are losing weight with VCO? Cheers with a Sip of Oil! Guest guest
Hi Judith, wow, your recipes sound great! And here I just finished canning all my tomatoes from my garden. I've looked for coconut milk in my grocery store and the local health food store, but no one carries it. I may have to go into the big city, they probably have them in the Asian aisles of the big chain grocery stores. Best wishes on the weight loss! Guest guest
Hi Bobbi, It seems a bit pricy because of the shipping costs from Panama, but the coconut oil from www.wildernessfamilynaturals <http://www.wildernessfamilynaturals/> is far better than anything I’ve tasted from a can. The only ingredients listed are coconut and water. (No benefit to me if you order it. I’m just a very satisfied customer.) Your canned tomatoes should work just fine. To make the soup I put the tomatoes in a blender, added the coconut milk and seasonings, poured it into a pan and heated it on the stove. Another benefit I’m noticing is that my rough elbow (from leaning on it too much while at my computer) is going away! My son bought some and is drinking at least one cup a day and the dandruff he’s had since high school, 20 years ago, is departing. This past Saturday our Car Club had a potluck picnic. I put a package of frozen chicken thighs (five or six thighs) in the crock pot, added a quart of organic chicken broth from the local health food store (no salt or fat), salt and a stick of butter. When the chicken was almost done I removed the bone and cut it into bite-sized pieces, added low starch mixed veggies and a cup of the coconut oil. It got rave reviews! (brag!) They never heard of cooking with coconut milk. A couple said that they didn’ t want all that horrid saturated fat and I explained the benefits of coconut oil and milk and saturated fats in general. I may have made a convert or two. Enjoy! ;-) Judith Alta -----Original Message----- Hi Judith, wow, your recipes sound great! And here I just finished canning all my tomatoes from my garden. Guest guest
Hi Judith, ahhh, you have a rough elbow too! Yes indeed the VCO is really helping with that. I'm going to try your chicken crock pot recipe tomorrow. Sounds good. Thanks for the link, however it says, Sorry, no results were found containing www.wildernessfamilynaturals I did manage to find some can coconut milk yesterday. It is called Rooster Brand – Gold Label. Product of Thailand. Ingredients: Coconut Milk, Water, Potassium Meta Bisulphide (as preservative). Is this preservative ok, or bad? It was a little lumpy but I shook it good in my protein shaker. Not bad tasting, but I'm not used to it yet, I also have to dulite it with water since I find it too thick to drink on its own. Nutrition Information Per ¼ cup Energy – 137 cal Protein – 1.3g Fat – 13g Carbs – 3g Bobbi Judith Alta <judith@...> wrote: Hi Bobbi, It seems a bit pricy because of the shipping costs from Panama, but the coconut oil from www.wildernessfamilynaturals <http://www.wildernessfamilynaturals/> is far better than anything I’ve tasted from a can. Guest guest
Sorry about that, Bobbi. You need a .com at the end. www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com. Not familiar with that preservative. Someone else will have to answer. Three grams of carbs is pricey when WFN has none and Thai Kitchen, until they changed their formula, only listed one. Let me know how you like the chicken. Guest guest
Oh darn, I better throw throw away my open can and take back the unopen can and look for one that is all natural. I just found out this about POTASSIUM BISULFITE. I'm trying to eat as clean as possible without any chemicals/preservators.etc. I would order from Wilderness, but I live in Canada, I'm sure the shipping cost and exchange rate would be very costly, just like anything else I order from the USA. They say if you can't pronounce it, don't eat it. lol BANNED, BUT STILL IN USE: THE SINISTER SIX SULFITES POTASSIUM BISULFITE POTASSIUM METABISULFITE SODIUM BISULFITE SODIUM SULFITE SODIUM METABISULFITE SULFUR DIOXIDE These substances are known to aggravate asthma, allergies, digestive and liver conditions. They can kill you and symptoms can range from mild breathing difficulties to anaphylactic shock. Symptoms include severe headaches, faintness, abdominal pains, nasal stuffiness, facial flushing and diarrhea. In addition, they destroy vitamin B among others. http://www.ewomennetwork.com/faculty/arts-dodson/pesticides.html Bobbi Judith Alta <judith@...> wrote: Sorry about that, Bobbi. Guest guest
It's probably, in part at least, the taste from the can that made the canned coconut milk so distasteful to me. Guest guest
Yes, I lost quite lot of weight even though I ate more calories with coconut oil. You can find out why this is possible if you read Bruce Fife's book " Eat Fat Look Thin " , or if you don't want to do that yet just go to the coconut resources website and read this article. http://www.coconutresearchcenter.org/article10065.php. Guest guest
> Any ideas would be greatly appreciated- I have not used adipose > dissolve but I have used -700 -weight off. Much appreciation. > O'Lone , I've had or seen phenomenal results without resorting to fad diets or fat-burning herbs. For weight loss, the main things to think about are caloric intake vs. the amount of energy expended, and also toxin load. Exercise is invaluable for expending energy; the rest can be done with diet restriction and a couple of supportive supplements. Toxin load impairs cellular function and ATP energy production by " smothering " cell function. Reduce toxin load. Carbs are a metabolism reducer AND growth hormone reducer. Reduce carbohydrate loading and increase protein, which is a metabolic increaser. For everyone under training, the elderly and people with metabolic syndrome (syndrome x), increasing the secretion of growth hormone to youthful values can really melt off visceral fat and simultaneously rebuild all lean tissue including organs and muscle mass. Several mechanisms exist to increase ATP energy production and its recycling without the use of stimulants or thermogenic herbs. Besides unimpeding mitochondrial production of ATP by rducing toxins as already mentioned, one can also repair mitochondria that have already been damaged, and also induce the body into " fat burning mode " which of course has direct application for weight loss. This is where my program shines. Increasing fat burning is an aerobic process, meaning it requires oxygen to increase ATP. Maybe extra oxygen does not have to be added into the equation but it's worth a look. An aerobic body is better able to produce energy and also to purge toxin load via oxidation performed by the liver. Details of the above approaches are available if you write me; mention " energy production " or " weight loss " depending on your choice in the subject line so I don't miss the mail. I would suggest something like the Atkins diet, but I don't believe in diets as much as I do in metabolic control. regards, Duncan Crow

Guest guest
Has anyone out there worked with products like corto-slim? When a person drinks coffe, the cortisol levels are high for l0 hours and eventually, according to Dr. Perricone, produce a body that is fat around the midriff, abdomen, hips. Cushings Disease often is the result. He suggests drinking green tea to combat this .... if you look at many of the shapes around, even if the person is thin on top and bottom, so many people are thick in the middle. Food combining is a way to lose weight but not if you have to stuff your face with everything in sight to fill the empty hole inside. With food combining, you can eat your carbs and proteins and fruits but not together. It sounds easy, but most people don't want to eat their baked potato two hours after their beef. is Rotella, M.Ac., Arnold, Md. > > > Any ideas would be greatly appreciated- I have not used adipose > > dissolve but I have used -700 -weight off. Guest guest
One thing that pops up frequently with obesity is AWARENESS or a lack thereof. Not only do obese people not know why they eat, they have no idea who they are or even what they did that day. Many go thru life on auto pilot. And many have belief systems that were put there by an unconscious relative who wanted to transfer their stuff to the innocent person. EFT is a wonderful tool for getting people to look inside without freaking out. is Rotella, M.Ac., Arnold, Md. > One thing that will do the trick ( in conjunction with the QX/scio or not: Get her/him on a raw food , non diary , non gluten diet. Guest guest
Hi, I began gaining weight quickly in December. I've gained nearly twenty pounds since Dec. 1. February 1 I began taking 3 TB of VCO every day. I had had fairly severe symptoms of hypothyroid and adrenal exhaustion, and these symptoms disappeared within the first week. I immediately began to sleep through the night, wake up alert and refreshed after only eight hours of sleep (unusual for me.) I also felt cheerful and enenergetic. I think I may have been slightly hyper-thyroid, and quite honestly I loved it. I also lost two pounds the first week, without doing anything else differently. Since then I continued to gain weight again, about five pounds a month. I seem to have leveled out these last couple of weeks. Although I haven't begun a stringent diet, hoping that " sensible " eating and light excercise would do the trick, I am at a loss as to why I continue to gain weight. I eat three meals a day, skip sugar and grains, eat plenty of protein...I don't get it. I am loathe to discontinue or reduce my VCO because it has otherwise made such a healthful difference for me. That's my story, and I welcome any comments or suggestions. > Does anyone have a weight loss story they would like to share? Guest guest
There is no negative side. It works best if you eat real foods, good fats, and minimize sugar and grains. It has only brought me better health and I wish I could sell the stuff that is how much I love it. -------------- Original message -------------- Does anyone have a weight loss story they would like to share? Guest guest
I would try counting your calories and carbs to see how much you are eating. We tend to under report our food intake unless we are diligent about writing down every mouthful. When I finally started looking at what I was eating I was eating way too much. I cut back, continued on with my coconut oil and I am 3 sizes smaller in my jeans and have more energy than ever. I don't weigh myself anymore because the fluctuations can be harmful to one's motivation....or at least some of us. Use a measuring tape or your clothes for a better gauge of what is happening with your body. Put the scale away for awhile. Eliminate Caffeine Artificial sugars Corn Wheat Legumes Excess Dairy Goitergens (sp) Fake foods including protein bars and shakes. Jeanne -------------- Original message -------------- Hi, I began gaining weight quickly in December. Guest guest
There is a really good website to help you track your food intake. http://fitday.com/ It helped me a lot, I am pretty lazy about things like that but this is easy. I track my food intake for a few days a month just to make sure I am not taking in more than I think I am. hope it helps June > > Does anyone have a weight loss story they would like to share?
