Guest guest
hi Pam I took it for six months last year and put weight on. i've been taking it for nearly three months now and not lost any. Someone in this forum suggested a detox. I am detoxing with epsom salts in the bath and in a foot bath, although the water is not changing colour though. I too eat very healthily. I am going to stick it out though. good luck pam h
Guest guest
I have. But I also decreased my carbs and was weighing & measuring my portions of other foods. VCO gave me energy and decreased my hunger. I lost 12 lbs. the first month I used it. :-) B God Bless America! Guest guest
I have lost a total of 55 lbs to date in about 11 months. The first loss occurred within 2 weeks. The VCO curbs my appetite, other wise no dietary changes. But I must add that Kefir and Kombucha are a regular part of my diet. zoe > Hello All > How many of you have lost weight with the help of CO? Guest guest
I have actually gained weight since starting coconut oil. I didn't change any other thing about my regular diet, just added the CO and I've gained about 5 pounds in the past 6 months. And I certainly don't need that extra, I actually need to lose 20 pounds! Guest guest
*How many of you have lost weight with the help of CO? If Yes how long did it take before you started to notice weight loss?* I began taking 1 Tbsp of coconut oil a day. I lost 5 lbs within 2 weeks. I also got my monthly period with no PMS and no bloating or cramping. After this, life got a little crazy and I stopped taking cocnut oil and other beneficial foods because I was on the fly beyond belief. I am now going back to a better regimen and way of eating. I will let you know nay further developments! Blessings, Jill!
Guest guest
Those of us who have been successful losing weight with VCO have also noticed a decrease in our appetite, so we are quite naturally eating less. If you are continuing to eat the same amounts as before of course you will gain weight. Its not some Magic Pill, If you want to lose you MUST eat less, the VCO allows us to feel full and not hungry. Guest guest
I've lost about 30 lbs, altogether, since starting VCO. Now, half of that, about 15 lbs, was lost the first week of January, when I was in the hospital for a week. But the rest of the 15 lbs was my doing, from using the VCO, and eliminating " bad " stuff from my diet. Then, in March, when the doctor put me on insulin, my weight loss seemed to come to a halt. I've been staying basically the same for the past 2 months. I'm almost out of the insulin, and I've restarted Metformin, so I think I can stop the insulin. I think the hospital doctor just did that because I was sick at the time. So, I plan to ask my doctor what he thinks. I think the insulin may be interfering with the VCO. Guest guest
* Those of us who have been successful losing weight with VCO have also noticed a decrease in our appetite, so we are quite naturally eating less. Huggs zoe* OTOH, one of the ways coconut oil helps you lose weight is in its ministry to the thyroid gland. It will kick up your sluggish metabolism, thereby enabling you to lose weight even w/o altering your caloric intake or changing your diet. Although, as sister zoe says, you should also experience a decrease in your appetite, and of course, eating well and exercising are important too! Blessings, Jill! Guest guest
A specific product indicated for excessive weight loss is undenatured whey; it is listed (as Immunocal) in the PDR for prescription drugs even for the cachexia (wasting) in advanced cancer and AIDS. Body builders have known about building up with whey for years, and are taking 80-160 grams or more of whey per day for lean tissue gain. What's often missed even by professionals is that elderly people do not produce enough growth hormone HGH for rehabilitation. HGH is absolutely required for growth and repair, at youthful levels than the 10% to 25% of prime that the elderly release, to form all that good nutrition into muscle, organs, and other lean tissue. I've used this approach even for the incurable wasting of autoimmune disorders, and so should you Duncan On 20 Aug 2007 at 13:56, qxci-english wrote: > Re. Guest guest
Hi Sven: My mother´s geriatric doctor, says that old people around 80 years old, loose weight with no apparent reason, and that is not wrong, the body changes. Although they have to eat properly, having enough proteins in their diet, as well as fruit and vegetables. By the way, my mother is 94 years old. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Thank you Marcela, Since I started taking whey (is that spelling correct?) I have begun gaining weight. I did this as I often was told in the program that my metabolism did't function properly and since I suddenly remembered, that whey can help. So in a month or two I believe I will have gained some 5-8 kg, which would give me a more normal weight. I know that we all loose some weight when we get older, so I do not expect to come back to my 71-72 kg. My wife and I are very careful to get enough fruits and vegetables and proteins, but that did not help before. Thanks again for your kindness! Guest guest
Sven, pardon me if I jump in with a bit of detail -- undenatured whey 'normalizes' peoples' weight partly by tending to help correct a slow metabolism. Many are losing fat while simultaneously gaining lean mass due to this metabolically stimulating effect, while skinny others are gaining muscle mass without paying attention to fat. Protein tends to maintain a higher metabolic rate, which means a bit more circulating HGH, because proteins in the diet do not suppress HGH release like carbs do. Besides lean muscle gain, a person may also use a program of HGH increase in order to repair like a youth, to have more energy and faster recovery, for organ and bone mass, lose fat, to correct lipid levels and 'metabolic syndrome', restore joints, sleep patterns, cardiac output, artery walls, kidney size and function, that kind of thing. Note that these are primarily thought of as 'age-related' conditions? Yup, they all respond to an anti-aging protocol that increases HGH. Science on that here: http://members.shaw.ca/SomaLife-gHP Duncan On 30 Oct 2007 at 16:41, qxci-english wrote: > Re: Weight loss > Posted by: " Sven Löf " logos@... > Date: Tue Oct 30, 2007 9:35 am ((PDT)) > > Thank you Marcela, > > Since I started taking whey (is that spelling correct?) Guest guest
Beth, It just happens to some of us. I lost 20 unexplained pounds and that is what finally got me in to the doctor for diagnosis. Part of it may be due to poor fat absorbtion because of the liver not functioning right. That is my case. And some people with Celiac also have the same problem. It varies in each one of us. Jeannette OR PBC/AIH

Guest guest
I now take about 3-4 tablespoons of coconut oil a day. I used to take 1-2 tablespoons. Coconut oil will not force your body to lose too much weight. Have you ever heard or leptin resistance? Given the right fats, your body will control how much you eat beforefeeling full -- unless one is leptin resistant. Due to high carb diets and all the wrong fats, many people are leptin resistant. Reverse tat resistance and the body will bring you to a healthy weight, losing fat, rather than muscle or bone, and help keep one at an ideal weight. All without feeling hungry or needing to count calories. Leptin is secreted into the blood. It is supposed to signal the brain when one has eaten enough. But if one is leptin resistant, the brain never tells you to stop eating. If a leptin resistant person eats carbs, leptin resistance gets worse. Eating healthy fats (omega 3 fish oils, beef from grass fed animals helps reverse Leptin resistance. Eating beef from grain fed animals, omega 3 processed oils, and carbs makes it worse. I have just started to read the Rosedale Diet. I have not read much of it yet. But what I have read ties into my experience. I used to be constantly snacking. I used to use more and more sugar. Both are symptoms of Leptin resistance. I have not had my leptin levels checked out, but using Rosedale's guidelines, it would indicate that I have far less resistance to Leptin now than I did 10 years ago. http://www.amazon.com/review/product/0060565721/ref=dp_top_cm_cr_acr_txt?_encodi\ ng=UTF8 & showViewpoints=1 Alobar On 9/1/08, and Carlson <peepers@...> wrote: > How much coconut oil would those of you that have lost weight > recommend taking per day? Guest guest
hi . I just read your post (email) that was addressed to liz and I am so impressed with the rate of your weight loss . I have been trying forever to lose weight (although, I do cheat, maybe sometimes a little to much) But even when I do stay on track and eat everything right, I never have that kind of weight loss. If its not to personal,do you think you might be able to share what kind of diet you've been on along with the VCO and any other supplements etc. I would really appreciate it alot. Guest guest
Hi Liz, I have not kept to an exact amount but I take at least take a teaspoon per day and up. Saying that I use coconut oil in almost everything as well as frying. I don't know how long it took before the coconut oil started working because I did not weigh until three weeks after and had lost 30lbs in in those three. I can tell you that if I miss a few days of taking coconut oil I do notice the difference in the amount that I loose. It is almost half then what I would have lost if I had kept taking coconut oil. I can't prove this but the scales do show me when I am not taking enough oil. I have been loosing between five to seven pounds a week and my lowest week was two pounds and that was the week that I had ran out of coconut oil. Good luck and let me know your progress. Guest guest
Please forgive my jumping in here. I've lost 133 lbs. Over the last 12 months. What I have found is that it's not about which diet or how much oil, but it's about your body having what it needs to be healthy -- enough exercise, enough nutrients, enough healthy fats (such as coconut oil). When we give our body what it needs, it will heal itself which includes returning to a healthy weight. (Of course there are other factors such as the state of your body when you start.) I still have more weight to lose. I don't normally consume much coconut oil, but I'm going to experiment over the next three weeks to see what kind of difference it makes with me. Guest guest
Hi , I don't know if you read 's email, but please do because he really hit it spot on. I no longer shop the isles at the grocery store, but shop the perimeter (vegetables, meat, dairy). If I cheat I do it with healthy stuff like a little bit of vanilla yogurt and a half of a banana. That is really cheating for me. I no longer eat wheat (coconut flour only) except on occasions I will have sour dough bread if I am at a picnic so I can have a hamburger. I have been eating healthier now then in the past when I though I was eating healthy. I don't count calories, but I never over eat and stop eating when my body tells me it is enough. I eat six small meals a day and if I am hungry for some reason I will eat my baked goods that I baked with coconut flour, coconut oil and stevia. I have not had white or brown sugar since I found out I was diabetic and that has been over two months ago. Anyway look at what had to say because it really is about eating the right foods. I do not even consider eating the commercial " fat free " , " sugar free " , " nutrition free " junk that is out there. Hope that this helps, the difference and quality of my life with just the weight I have lost so far makes it worth any junk food that I could have polluted my system with. Good luck! Guest guest
, I have been there before, so let me help out a little with what I have just learned. I am in the process of following a MindMap that was made by this trainer. I listened to this podcast from justaskmarc and what he said really made since. He stated that if you had mapped out what you were eating as well as exercise and all the aspects of your life that are connected to your weight then you would have a better picture of what is going on. The site that he put up was www.summer-weightloss.com and if you will click on Overview Map at the top right hand corner of the site it will give you a model to map out what you are doing. This will enable you to track down why you are not losing and make the necessary adjustments until you start seeing results. I am in the process of doing this map and I am amazed at the areas that I need to start improving. My goal is to have a fit mind, body and attitude and this map I think will give me the tools to achieve it. Hope this might help you and lessen the frustration of not seeing you goals achieved. Guest guest
Amy, Kid's are picky eaters. My Daughter was 12 yrs old and weighed 79 pounds she had always been in the below 5 percentile for height and weight. I talked with the Dr about this and she said to watch what she ate making sure she had enough vitamins going in her. She loved cheese so Cheese went on everything. Including Cheese Spinach lolol. Her labs were good as she ate Chicken Livers 2 times a month to keep her from being Anemic. She always looked pale at times but we noticed it was a pattern. It is hard to keep them eating. Sometimes they only want 1 type of food. Today my daughter goes through craving certain foods and then she will not eat it until a craving hits her. lololol. Not sure if this is just common in JA kids as my son went through a phase when he was skinny as a pole and he was a picky eater. With him today he is 31 and still is a picky eater BUT what he eats could feed a Army lolololol. It might help to feed her several times a day than just 3 meals per day. My daughter works better with eating but spreading it out over the day. It also helps with the tummy issues with JA. If you can find Bosco chocolate Syrup this has ALOT of vitamins in it. My mother in law got me some for the kids. WOW it sure helped. Robbin **************One site keeps you connected to all your email: AOL Mail, Gmail, and Mail. Try it now.
