Hepatitis and Antibiotic side effects

I have AIH. Whenever I take antibiotics I get severe nausea. Before I

had liver problems, I could take most antibiotics and not feel so

sick. I've asked my liver doctor if this is because the liver is not

processing the drugs properly, thus causing side effects to be worse.

She didn't think there was any connection. I have read that if you

have liver problems, side effects from taking medications can be

enhanced as more toxins enter the bloodstream. Any help or experiences

would be greatly appreciated.

When I was first diagnosed with AIH I was told I could only take

certain antibiotics and I had to be careful of how much I took. Of

course this was in 1996 so things are changing all the time.

If you aren't sure if your doctor is correct I would ask another

doctor.
