Guest guest
Hi again! I also have a lot of pain, both in my joints and my skin, and haven't been able to work for a year now. Some days I can hardly walk while other days I feel quite well, but I can never tell until I get up in the morning... It also hurts if I lie down on my side or if something presses against my body. Even a hard hug hurts, and I get a lot of those from my kids . They have learnt to be gentle though since they know that if I'm not prepared I scream... My doctor tells me that this is partly caused by me dropping off prednisolone. I was in pain even when I was on it but it has gotten much worse since I got off it. The body is not used to producing it's own cortisone so we don't have our natural painkiller. Exercising helps a lot, so I just try to do as much as I can, as you said, it hurts like crazy but I still must do it since I know it gets worse if I don't, so don't give up. For me a good help has been massage and acupuncture. Since I've been in so much pain I haven't been able to take acupuncture lately though, but instead I've gotten acupressure which is a bit less painful. I try massage very gently the parts of my skin which hurts most, like legs, hips and arms, but usually I'm too lazy to do it. I'm not sure if it is caused entirely by AIH but is connected to it. A lot of people with AIH and PCB are in pain and have problems with their joints. I', 38 years of age and I hve had AIH since I was 5. I have always had joint pain to some degree and also had very sensitive skin and gotten a lot of bruises. But I guess it is getting worse by age. Take care and don't give up! Keep on moving! Nina!
