From: jjcathcart 3.Autoimmune Hepatitis From: jjcathcart I've always wanted to try snow-shoeing and cross-country. Now it's all I can do to bring in firewood! Yes, we have fireplace fires in Austin, TX. I keep busy by doing nothing! Reading, computer, TV, that's about it. Will be alone for Christmas; it will be like any other non-day. As was Thanksgiving. No presents, no family, no feast, but I'm getting used to spending all holidays that way. All my friends are online, but I am truly grateful for each and every one. That crossover/switch thing was fascinating. I am one of the few who were dx with AIH first; the PBC dx wasn't added to the AIH until 4 years later. I am AMA-negative but ANA and ASMA positive, negative for anti-LKM-1. Cautionary tale: after PBC dx I had to change gastros. The new one sent 1995 and 1999 biopsy slides to Mayo but NO blood test results. Mayo's second opinion was PBC only and my new gastro insisted on my stopping Imuran. Bad move and wrong, blood test results shot way way up without it. Point is that biopsy slides alone don't always tell the whole picture, but I am not willing to risk going off of it again. I really question the possibility of one AI liver disease " switching " to another, but I'm no medical expert or practitioner and it is certainly an intriguing theory I'll be investigating further. AIH- lots of great info in that post and I will be saving and re-reading it. Thanks, Joanne. Happy holidays to everyone.
