Guest guest
Hi Therese from CT here, in response to your question, I had 2 sisters one older and one younger that passed away from cirrhosis of the liver at the ages of 14 and 10 , this happened back in 1956 and 1969 and back then they didn't have the wonder drugs of prednisone and imuran, they were also not diagnosed with AIH but since I came down with it in 2000, the Dr feels it was probably the same disease. I was the lucky one as the medications have worked for me and I am off all of them for 5 yrs now and am in remission. I also have diabetes and my older sister has several auto immune diseases ( thyroid and lupus). Don't be discouraged, there is always hope....Take care Therese from CT
