Guest guest
I'd be worried too. It's not approved for children younger than 13 yrs old. It's an antiviral drug. Here's a link. http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/infopage/tamiflu/default.htm fries_m wrote: > Anyone know anything abou this stuff? Guest guest
Wow, this is weird, on the FDA site it says that this drug is approved for use in children 13 and older, but when I go to the tamiflu site, it says 1 year and older. Wouldn't the FDA update their site if the age had changed? Jordan's mom wrote: > I'd be worried too. It's not approved for children younger than 13 yrs > old. It's an antiviral drug. Guest guest
Someone wrote recently that we shouldn't use Tamiflu (when exposed to flu.) I think I read it on this site. I haven't been able to find any information suggesting that Tamiflu is harmful to those with weakened immune systems or liver disease. Can someone tell me if I read it here, and, if so, why they were told not to take Tamiflu? Thanks. Harper ************** Ideas to please picky eaters. Watch video on AOL Living. Guest guest
Debby, was it you who became ill after taking Tamiflu? What symptoms did you have? Were they clearly distinguishable from flu symptoms? I hope to discuss Tamiflu and similar medications with my doctor tomorrow, and I want to have as much information as possible. I had a flu shot in the autumn, as always, of course. Harper ************** Ideas to please picky eaters. Watch video on AOL Living. Guest guest
Harper, A few of us responded and said that the official website for Tamiflu says, " Efficacy of TAMIFLU has not been established in immunocompromised patients. " I know that my own physician said I should not use it. I do get a flu shot every year. And then someone (I think Debby) said she got deathly ill from one dose of Tamiflu.
