Debbie Thanks for the congrats for Randy and me. However, I think

you have confused me with ... we are both from WV ...lol.

: So sorry to hear about your Dad...our thoughts are with you.

We, too, have several friends who have children serving and it is always a

difficult time to wish them well when they leave on a new assignment.

How are you doing with all this snow? Luckily we haven't had to travel too

much in it.. just enjoying the sights and nature creatures which come into

the yard. Hope we can maybe get together this spring and do lunch again.

Take care of yourself.

Sorry I seemed to drop out again after just dropping back in. My family

and I

were taking care of my father who passed away a week ago today. It has

been hard

to watch as he died from liver failure and I know that someday this could

be my

fate if I do not take care of myself. He was a brave man who I was proud

to call

my father.

I also had to tell my son goodbye yesterday as he left for his new post.

He is

in the Army. This has been an emotional week for me but I am back now and

hopefully I will be able to participate more actively again.

Thank you for letting my share a little of my life with you,

the WV hillbilly

Hi ....I am so very sorry that your Father passed. It is so sad

when your daddy leaves. It hurts, but soon, you will be thinking of only the

fun things that happened when he was with you. That is what happened when

my Daddy died. Now only happy thoughts remain..give it time and the pain

will become 'softer " .

I wrote back to you when you wrote about the anniversary of your shared

transplant with Randy. However, my phone did not deliver the message. I am

so very happy for you. You have given me courage so often! You and Randy

are truly an inspiration...as all of the 'team' here has been!

As for your son.....how exciting for him, but your sadness is normal. My

nephew is going to Alabama in March also. He received his " Marching Orders "

a few weeks ago. We are all so excited for him, but know that the empty

nest is difficult to go through. But think of graduation.....what fun it

will be to take photos. Maybe one day, the two " boys " who will soon be

Protectors of our Country will meet. Tell your son, I am so very proud of him.

As for me, well, I have had to go to Disability Retirement through the

school system. In February, my results from my first biopsy were so bad the

doctor told me I could live and retire or die and teach.....the family

thought the first choice was the best. Now I am trying to get settled into

getting healthy and get off the prednisone. I had to see Dr. Bonnaccini from

the Pacific group in San Francisco. He just told me to not be so fat and I

am trying to get the weight off. It will be easier when I am totally off

the prednisone. I had to have another biopsy in August because my counts were

going up so badly and my clotting factor was bad. So my GI added the Vit

K injections when I need them. But I am doing much better now and am on

the road back down to healthy again.

SO.....now I am doing photography by making coasters and putting photos on

them or on plates, etc. This Christmas, people wanted their family put on

the coaster. It was a blast to put them all together for them. It is a

fun thing to do. I have a business partner and we are going to add

embroidery to the mesh of work. It is going pretty good so far. We are also

taking

photos in April of 75 children who will be receiving their first Holy

Communion at church.

My business partner is the official photographer of the Foundation of

Reaching for the Stars of the first Hispanic Astronaut, . We

spent three days photographing him and his Astronaut friend Dr. Bobby Satcher.

It was such a thrill to photograph them both. When he comes to his home

town, we are up here taking photos. It has been an honor to be with both of

the gentlemen. It is just sad that the last space mission is to be in

April.

Well, I know that I don't post often and this time I have written a book.

God bless you and help you as you walk the road of grief for your father,

and the road of pride for your son!

My sincere apologies!  Maybe I will get it right the next time.
