Hi all,

I've been lurking on this list for a short while...my 6 year daughter,

, had Lyme this past July...in October she became very sick again,

with a multitude of symptoms - nausea, vomiting, fever, stomach pain,

rash, red eyes, " purple dots " , and swollen, painful joints. Our

pediatrician referred us to a pediatric rheumatologist in Hackensack, NJ,

and she was tested for many things, including about $1000 of blood

work...the blood work did not support a reoccurence of Lyme, or anything

else for that matter - it was basically normal. Antibiotic treatment

did, however, cause dramatic improvement. At this point, that doctor

feels that it may be JRA (as opposed to a Lyme related arthritis), but

isn;t really sure. We saw our regular pediatrician today, and she is

sending us to another pediatric rheumatologist in New York City for a

second opinion...Name is Lehman, anyone heard of him?? Our

pediatrician feels 's case is very ambiguous - just not clear in

any direction, so wants to be sure we're not missing anything. We, of

course, agree with this approach...I don't feel like I have anything I

can really contribute to the list at this point, but if you have any

suggestions for me I'd love to hear them. By the way, right now

has pretty consistent swelling in her knees ( one more than the other),

and to a lesser degree her ankles. No pain though. The only med she's

taking is Naproxen. I've been considering giving her glucosamine, but

not sure of dosage. Thanks for your ears, and your children are in my

thoughts and prayers...

Renay
