Guest guest
Hi Amy: You can tell stomach bleeding by taking stool test. They can look for traces of blood in the stool (occult blood). Your dr can write a lab prescription for that. Also if you do blood work every 6 weeks, you should look for dropped values in Hemoglobin, Hematocrit and Albumin. Dropped values may indicate loosing blood internally. I hope that is not the case for you. Please take care.... Guest guest
Afsi, Thank you for writing back. I know they tell me her white blood count is down. Is that what you are talking about when you said, " hemoglobin " ? What are some signs that would have a dr. do a stool test? I was wondering if I should request one? one more thing (tummy problems) > > > > > > From: " Amy Fox " <foxpro@...> > > How can they tell if a child has stomach bleeding or ulcers? Guest guest
Hi Amy, When there is internal bleeding, your red blood count goes does not the white ones. If has constant abdominal pain and refuses to eat, I think you should really have the dr check a few things in her stool. You need to be persistant with these doctors because sometimes they just do not want to do what they are told. But you should tell the dr that you want to rule out any internal bleeding. Also, the color of the stool would look black and sometimes you can see the blood in the stool yourself. I used to check my daughter's stool everytime she went to the bathroom because she did have bleeding from taking naprosyn. I hope this helps.
